CorMedix Inc. is an emerging biopharmaceutical company focused on developing and commercializing therapeutic products for the prevention and treatment of infectious and inflammatory diseases. Our Company is focused on commercializing our FDA approved drug product, Defencath®, a novel, antimicrobial, and antifungal solution designed to prevent catheter-related bloodstream infections (“CRBSIs) in patients with end-stage renal disease receiving hemodialysis through a central venous catheter. The FDA approved DefenCath on November 15, 2023, and CorMedix plans to launch on April 15, 2024. Future research and NDA submissions may include indications for similar infectious outcomes in oncology, ICU, and patients receiving total parenteral nutrition (TPN).
Position:
The National Account Director(s), Market Access, will help prepare the company’s first product launch in the US by focusing on key payers and strategic customers. This position reports to the Executive Director, Strategic Partnerships and Market Access. This role will be responsible for the development and maintenance of relationships for Payer and corporate accounts to provide access and formulary positions within the commercial, government, and all other market segments that DefenCath may be sold. The objective of these roles is to ensure that healthcare providers and patients will have unimpeded access to our products and services in the dialysis market and beyond as the label is expanded. The NAD, Market Access, will achieve this by educating and contracting with payers, providers, and contracting personnel as they make formulary and policy decisions. This includes education on the value our assets provide Payers and their patients and our competitive position relative to alternatives. This is a field-based opportunity but may require some travel to our NJ office.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: **
· Attain desired formulary position for DefenCath ® within targeted access accounts in a timely manner set by management.· Develop and maintain relationships with customers to attain near-term and ensure long-term success in coverage and access for DefenCath within intended markets.· Develop and execute strategic business plans for assigned accounts and overall responsibilities.· Maintain appropriate stewardship of all assigned customer relationships, ensuring timely responses to pricing requests and/or submissions of critical review inputs· Maintain, and act effectively against, a broad and deep understanding of market and account-level information relevant to formulary decision-making, including, but not limited to policies, formulary processes, competitive formulary activity, and status, decision timeframes, key decision makers, decision influencers and organizational priorities.· Manage customer-facing responsibilities in partnership with Account Management to maintain strong relationships with customers and reactively demonstrate strong knowledge of medical benefit coverage and/or reimbursement methodologies.· Facilitate Market Access content during quarterly business reviews with customers and internal leadership relevant to assigned businesses.· Collaborate across functional, geographic, and company boundaries to meet mutual business goals and corporate objectives.· Outreach and ownership of health system relationships with providers, key stakeholders, and supply chain as appropriate.· Creating customer presentation materials and presenting to customers, leading payer accounts relationships, and gaining feedback/insight to modify negotiating frameworks to secure account alignment.· Partner with patient services & advocacy colleagues to identify and implement initiatives to enable patient access to CorMedix products and ensure the success of critical resources.· Contribute competitive payer and formulary messaging to the broader team to effectively position DefenCath™ within the hemodialysis marketplace.· Develop compelling and differentiated product value propositions and build associated relationships with customers.· Execute effective payer communications that achieve access and contribution goals.· Participate in promotional presence at key national and regional payer or commercial conferences as required by leadership· Support cross-functional sales team in any IDN contracting discussions that fall outside of GPO purchasing.Track, problem-solve, and analyze contracted product performance and communicate account performance broadly with key stakeholders
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
· Well-versed in payer strategies, engagement, and contracting terms across various segments; including commercial, Medicare Part B & D, and Federal systems like DOD, and VA.· Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize across competing priorities while managing stakeholder needs.· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.· Proficient in budget management.· Strong analytical skills.· Ability to travel (domestic U.S. travel approx. 50% annually).· Experience in prior customer-facing roles.· Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience within the pharmaceutical and/or healthcare industry.· Minimum of 5+ years of market access experience working in access strategy, contracting, pricing, and reimbursement.· Proven technical training and/or demonstrated experience in applying HEOR/RWE output for purposes of delivering strategic market access solutions (payer-facing experience is strongly preferred).· Someone who has lead account management, payer contracting, and marketing, health system sales, pricing, managed care contracting, distribution, and pharmacy supply.· Someone who has lead bill and pay, and sales and payer contracting.· Experience in developing Payer Value Propositions is highly desired, as is the capability to contribute to population health management programs that support the implementation and pull-through of innovative reimbursement or payment models.· Deep understanding and experience of the U.S. healthcare reimbursement landscape at both regional and Government levels, in the dialysis field, and evolving market access trends.
