Associate Product Manager

The Pet Care business unit of Spectrum Brands is based in St. Louis, Missouri with distribution, manufacturing and sales offices throughout the US and globe. Job Summary**

This individual must have sufficient experience, be recognized as a future leader in the organization, and command respect from all functions. This individual will manage a product category and be responsible for everyday business results. **

Primary Duties & Responsibilities**

• Product Development for Bird, Small Animal, and Aquatic nutrition out of our Bridgeton facility
• Product Management
• Assists in the identification, evaluation and development of business building ideas; works with other business unit team members to execute the plans that meet investment criteria.
• Collaborate with sales and Trade Marketing to develop In-Store Promotion planning
• Work with Brand Marketing to develop a media strategy
• Competitive/Market Research execution
• Presentation development
• Analyze consumption and shipment data and compare results to established objectives ensuring marketing program effectiveness.
• Communicate product launches with the sales team
• Work to improve key performance indicators (KPIs) including safety, quality, production, cost and development.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Must understand and demonstrate safe work practices at all times to ensure a safe work environment.

Education and Experience Profile

• Bachelor's degree required, MBA strongly preferred.
• 2-5 years of work experience in Marketing with a strong track record of increasing responsibility.
• Has assisted in new product development process from concept inception through market introduction
• Has assisted in the development and execution of annual marketing plans, preferably including advertising, media and consumer promotion planning.
• Has assisted in the development of new and existing item pricing strategies and product P&Ls
• Has a solid grasp on consumer research methodologies.
• Has participated in key account sales presentations and has demonstrated strengths in working closely with sales and other functional departments.
