The Tribal Timetabling Engineering Team supports this mission through the design, development and deployment of reliable, functionally rich and market leading web-based Timetabling and Scheduling software.

The role

We are looking for an Engineering Manager who will be responsible for the creation and delivery of core software solutions. The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading and managing the relevant team or teams throughout the entire Software Development Lifecycle.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

• To be accountable for the successful delivery of products and solutions to clients on time and within agreed budget
• To ensure the technical currency of the product and platform is maintained, upgrading software where required and deprecating older technology if needed
• To be accountable for adherence to agreed overall architecture and software development standards
• To ensure the execution of detailed code reviews and assess overall code quality and flexibility, and application of good programming techniques
• To be accountable for quality of software released to the customer, ensuring this is of a high standard through continually assessing and improving regression testing and increasing automation testing coverage
• To support adoption of and rollout of test automation and continually strive to increase coverage
• To work in collaboration with the Product Manager/Owners and internal customer stakeholders.

The person

You will have significant commercial technical experience in the Software Development SDLC, along with the ability to manage and control activity within the SDLC, matrix manage resource and teams as necessary to achieve positive results.

The right candidate will have demonstrable knowledge of the testing/QA process partnered with experience in the interpretation and review of specifications.

You will need to showcase your knowledge of SCRUM development methodology (or designated development methodology, depending on product).

Most importantly the ideal candidate will have strong people management skills along with a track record of or leading successful development teams or projects.
