Senior Manager Corporate Actuary

As the senior manager of corporate actuary , reporting to Progressive’s Chief Actuary, you’ll lead a small Reserving Research & Development team focused on data science methodology, leveraging new technology and advancing our data science efforts. You’ll guide a team of two lead analysts to improve data science methodology and bring new predictive modeling tools to Progressive. As the senior manager you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with IT and other business partners to integrate new variables into actuarial models. Additionally, you’ll have the responsibility for predicting and determining reserves for several states.

This is a remote position; quarterly travel may be required. **

Must-have Qualifications**

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or Finance
• Associateship (ACAS) designation
• A minimum of seven years of actuarial experience

Preferred Skills

• Prior management experience
• Knowledge of programming languages such as SQL, R, or Python
• Technical skills with a data science mentality
• Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills

Compensation

• $122,400 – $174,800/year
• Gainshare bonus up to 50% of your eligible earnings based on company performance
• Participation in our restricted stock units plan
