Position Focus**
The Technical Lead for Archival Systems will provide customer service excellence by partnering with clients to administer, support, and train staff on library applications. This position will take ownership in guiding and managing the solutions used for library archival collections acquisition, access, discovery, and management. The Technical Lead will oversee, monitor, and administer enterprise services including the library archival management system, supporting applications, custom integrations, and other related services as directed.
The Technical Lead will maintain a broad and detailed mastery of these tools and the internal operations of the units served. The position will standardize and promote tools, processes, and best practices for using these platforms across the organization. The role will require a successful candidate to create sustainable relationships to provide consultative support to service user communities. The successful candidate will be technically adept, hands‐on, a self‐starter, passionate about technology, communicative, and collaborative. The position will work closely with a team of technical leads, engineers, librarian, and archivist experts to develop, implement, and support solutions. The Technical Lead is a Yale Library IT department member, reporting to the Associate Director of Client Services.

Essential Duties**
Required Education And Experience
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field and a minimum of four years of related technical experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. **

Strong analytical, organizational, and facilitation skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. **
Preferred Education, Experience And Skills**
Experience with modern, SaaS-based library/archival systems. Familiarity with common computing languages including scripting languages, e.g., shell and Python, data query languages, e.g., SQL, and programming languages including Ruby/JRuby, JavaScript. Familiarity with software development tools $ techniques. Familiarity with Unicode and data standards for representing library information. **
