About the Company
Forge Recruitment is currently partnered with our client in the search of a Litigation Legal Assistant to support their growing Litigation Group in their Ottawa office. The firm, a large national multi-service firm, is regarded as one of Canada's most highly regarded and respected industry leaders.

About the Role
Independently managing the daily activities of up to four lawyers, the Litigation Legal Assistant will:
  • Handle all administrative duties such as email and calendar management, coordinate meetings, make travel arrangements, etc.
  • Prepare and maintain a bring-forward system and provide appropriate reminders to the professionals in the group
  • Prepare legal documents and correspondence according to precedents and/or instructions (draft letters, revise draft documents, and prepare document comparisons), under legal professional supervision
  • Time docket entry
  • Liaise with Billing Coordinators for the monthly production of accounts
  • Ensure all physical and electronic filing is organized and up to date on a regular basis
  • Occasional transcribing of digital dictation
  • Other duties, as assigned

What You Bring
As the ideal candidate, you possess 4+ years of experience in civil and commercial litigation, gained from a law firm environment. You have in-depth understanding of business and legal terminology and the Rules of Civil Procedure. Solid computer and typing skills; proficiency in MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe PRO, a DMS, Elite 3E, ACL or similar legal software.
