Role Summary
The main purpose of the role is to manage, lead and take accountability for individual project work.  You will ensure all project tasks are supported by adequate process notes and guidance. The templates used are business compliant.
You will set quality targets for project work - monitor and report on targets set against actual performance.  You will lead project teams and provide coaching to staff by developing their technical and process knowledge. Effectively manage time/resources, ensuring effective delivery of project work on time.
You must be able to work effectively and develop positive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders across Data Solutions, Retirement Solutions, EQ group and other organisations. You will meet and present to existing and prospective clients new project work, identifying opportunities to win new business. 
Core Duties/Responsibilities
  • To manage and take accountability for complex projects by maintaining project plans, actions log, issues, and a risks log.  Client reports, meetings, and MS-Teams calls – prepare for, attend, create agendas, and record accurate minutes. Review and sign-off timesheet entries for projects you are responsible for.
  • Perform project management role to ensure project delivery is aligned with roadmap.  Prioritising and organising workloads to ensure deadlines are met, and standards of delivery maintained. Ensure work completed in a commercially sound manner and complies with contract or administration practices / agreements which are already in place.
  • Function as a point of reference on complex, technical and legislative queries. Monitor, check and audit casework to ensure it is fit for purpose whilst identify training and development needs for the team.  Providing ongoing training and coaching.  Supporting Head of Delivery/Operations regarding project and team members performance.
  • Regularly innovate to improve unit times and/or accuracy of casework either by new solutions or building on existing solutions. Develop processes as required and consult with stakeholders following identified risks or gaps. Implement effective solutions for identified gaps in processes and procedures. Escalate relevant issues to stakeholders with proposed solutions.
  • Develop effective working relationships with team colleagues, internal and external business contacts – consulting with other departments as required.
  • Maintaining data held on systems and providing management information as required across own business area.
  • Run project meetings with the team to communicate targets, progress, knowledge sharing and important updates.
  • Sign-off client progress report, containing; issues, risks, progress in this period, targets for next period, milestones, and budget.

  • A very good understanding of defined benefit pension scheme design, awareness of scheme rules, industry regulations and legislation.
  • Previous experience delivering UK defined benefit occupational pension scheme projects.
  • Good awareness of project management methodologies.
  • Able to problem solve and provide a project-based consultancy service to clients.
  • Ability to deliver project work to multiple clients within agreed budget and project plan.
