As the Chief Architect on the engineering leadership team, you will directly impact our vision and mission of helping students succeed by bringing more institutions and students onto the Ready Education platform through architecture management contributions to the team.

Your primary objectives will be to

Work with internal leaders to proactively manage projects and deliverables and ensure cross-functional alignment of upcoming updates to technical roadmaps.
Plan and design the structure of a technology solution
Oversee assigned programs such as conduct code review and provide guidance to team members

The ideal candidate for the Chief Architect will work hand in hand with the Director of Engineering and Chief Product Officer to assess new ideas and support building strategies and technical road maps. The Chief Architect should thrive on solving complex problems .

Responsibilities

Leading the architecture design of the B2B and B2B2C SaaS products
Understand company needs to define system specifications
Assist with solving technical problems when they arise
Ensure the implementation of agreed architecture and infrastructure
Address technical concerns, ideas and suggestions
Monitor systems to ensure they meet both user needs and business goals
Evaluate and select appropriate software or hardware and suggest integration methods
Staying abreast of developments in web applications and programming languages
Contribute to process improvements
Provide feedback to management on improvements to the engineering team and across the organization
Participate in meaningful code reviews to ensure quality
Contribute in initial project meetings to understand and scope of work and contribute to the plan
Collaborate with team leaders across the organization

Qualifications

Minimum 7 years experience in web development
Minimum 3 years experience in technical roles (project management/ architect) at a senior level or higher
Understanding of strategic IT solutions
Have extensive experience with Python and Java-based web applications and their related ecosystem of libraries/frameworks (e.g. Django, Spring, Flask)
Have experience working with REST APIs
DevOps and infrastructure management tools, such as Ansible, Terraform, K8s, Docker
Have experience working with some RDBMS (e.g. MySQL, MongoDB),
Have experience working with some non-RDBMS such as Redis and Elasticsearch
Expertise in modern SOA and microservice architectures
Deep experiential-based knowledge of architecting and building AWS based SaaS services is a bonus
