Job Title: Network Automation Engineer
Location: NJ, Remote
Job Type: 6-12+ month Contract

Job Description:
Network Automation Engineer will support the Network Software and Automation team to develop and achieve vision of self-service in the Network domain. The Network Automation Engineer is responsible for designs and develops reliable and repeatable automated solutions through a combination of network engineering knowledge, DevOps practices, and coding.
The Network Automation Engineer will have experience enabling automation across Enterprise Networks, AWS, Azure and/or GCP Networking, SDWAN, utilizing REST APIs, Ansible, Terraform, Python, Low-Code automation tools, and can provide analysis of vendor solutions and integrations with third party cloud solutions and providers. The role will also have broad proficiency in network virtualization, cloud computing, SDN/NFV, and overlay technologies. The role will partner with multiple infrastructure, security, and operations teams, ensuring successful and efficient deployment solutions and creating corresponding documentation. The candidate must be able to transform complex problems and abstract concepts into executable technology solutions and will be accountable for developing network automation capabilities across Network services globally to achieve agile standards that are best suited for automated orchestration and fault management. Preferred Location: Raritan, NJ. Other US-Remote locations considered; EST time zone is favorable.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Enable and release low-code automation across Enterprise Networks, AWS, Azure and/or GCP Networking, SDWAN, utilizing REST APIs, Ansible, Terraform, Python, and 3rd party Network Automation Tools.
  • Build/configure/modify API integrations for different network tools, services, and platforms leveraging Swagger/OpenAPI documentation or Postman collections.
  • Leverage, configure, and modify Ansible playbooks, CI/CD pipelines, and documentation to deploy network automation software and configuration into new environments
  • Review and develop CI/CD pipelines to automate the testing and merge request processes from lower to higher environments
  • Collaborate on NS&A Team best practices, standards, and assist with the adoption of network automation across our Global Network Services teams.
  • Interview and partner with network engineers across multiple teams (delivery, release management, engineering, operations) in order to learn and understand the manual processes that need to be automated. Schedule reoccurring check-ins and demos of automation progress to ensure design is aligned with the requirements.
  • Lead the development of consistent network solution standards with appropriate documentation, templates, use cases and acceptance testing
  • Collaborate with engineering team to drive supportable solution development.
  • Intake automation requests and review internal manual process documentation in order to design MVP solutions
  • Consult with peer organizations and management on best practices for network automation standards and partner in developing a strategy to support global deployments at scale through automated solutions.
  • Collaborate and brainstorm about the best way to tackle a complex technological infrastructure, security, or development problem.
  • Perform incremental testing actions on code, processes, and deployments to identify ways to streamline execution and minimize errors encountered
  • Provide knowledge transfer sessions with peers and suppliers regarding changes in procedures, processes, documentation, and frameworks.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelors in Computer Science Or Software Engineering OR related technical degree or experience
  • 5+ years of experience in Enterprise Network experience with a highly available global production infrastructure
  • 2+ years of professional experience with Infrastructure as Code in Networking infrastructure in general
  • 2+ years infrastructure as code experience utilizing Python, REST, YAML, Ansible and/or Terraform
  • Experience with Automation across AWS or Azure and/or GCP
  • Experience developing CI/CD, NetDevOps model.
  • Basic Knowledge of routing protocols like BGP, EIGRP, L2/L3 VPNs and IPSec
  • Experience working in and with Agile, Scrum and Kanban work processes preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Current knowledge and demonstrated understanding of multi-cloud networking solutions
  • Excellent written and oral communication skill with experience communicating highly conceptual designs to executives, mid-level management, and peer engineers.
