Position Summary**

Gerhard Kruger, Director of Sales Engineering for the Helix ALM brand at Perforce is searching for a Sales Engineer to join the team. We are looking for an individual who will be responsible for providing pre-sales technical support to the Helix ALM sales team and customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and experience in software development and testing.

The Sales Engineer will be responsible for conducting Helix ALM product demonstrations and providing technical expertise to customers during the sales process. The Sales Engineer will work closely with the sales team to identify customer needs and provide solutions that meet those needs. The Sales Engineer will also be responsible for providing post-sales technical support to customers as needed.

Helix ALM is a unified platform for requirements management, test case management, and issue management that helps organizations streamline complex development, automate traceability, and deliver the highest quality possible. **

Responsibilities**

  • Partner closely with the sales team to drive both new logo and expansion business for Helix ALM.
  • Lead consultative technical discovery process with new prospects and existing customers:
    • Search for pain and opportunity based on deep dives into their existing process and tooling throughout their development lifecycle.
    • Understand, quantify, and document the negative business impact of the current state.
    • Design an optimal desired state built around our products.
    • Demonstrate how our solutions solve the customer’s existing problems and challenges.
    • Manage Proof of Concepts (POCs) to prove the desired state and the positive impact on the customer’s business.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management and Engineering to communicate product feedback, new requirements, and competitive intelligence.
  • Support Marketing activities by participating in trade shows, reviewing, and contributing to blogs, webinars, and website content.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure ongoing support and success for our customers.
  • Manage technical and consultative relationships with strategic customers.
  • Moderate travel required (customers, conferences.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in technical pre-sales support or in a software consulting capacity including customer facing demonstrations or presentations.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical field.
  • Software development pipeline experience is highly preferred.
  • Requirements management.
  • Experience with the SDLC and software testing.
  • Excellent written, verbal and in-person/remote video conference presentation skills.
  • Passion to continually learn and grow your technical and social skills.
  • Ability to handle and overcome objections.
  • Ability to learn technology quickly through instruction and self-training.
  • Ability to work in an unstructured environment.
  • Product demonstrations.
  • Strong preference for experience with customers in high compliance industries (automotive, medical device, pharmaceutical, etc.).

_ The base pay range targeted for this role is $90,000 - $110,000 _USD. This position could also be eligible for additional compensation and benefits including, but not limited to incentive compensation, health benefits, retirement benefits, life insurance, wellness programs, total time off and other employee perks that may be offered by Perforce from time to time. The actual offer will depend on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s education, skills, qualifications, depth of experience and other relevant business considerations.
