Job Description

Function: Design and Creative Graphic Design / Animation

The animator will be mainly responsible for creating animations by understanding the design documents for the characters, environmental objects and interfaces. You will also be involved in the VFX development and creations. The animator will communicate with tech art and the producer to identify risks in the production process.

Responsibilities:

  • The Animator will be working with a team of technical artists, designers, artists and engineers to develop amazing animations and special effects in Unity/other game engines.
  • Responsible for the overall look and artistic approach of the Game Animations.
  • Understand the design documents and come up with ideas and deliver the animation mocks and Assets.
  • Conceptualise and illustrate exceptional game animations ideas and communicate the styling and concepts through mock-up art.
  • Creating prefabs for Animations in Unity/other game engines and animating particle systems to create amazing vfx needed.
  • Work closely with the Art director, Game artists, Game Designer, Programmers, product managers and Producer to create animations which will drive the visual identity of the game.
  • Meet the quality standards for the assets created in the development of Casual Game by satisfying the demands of an aggressive delivery cadence.
  • Raise the bar for the project by demanding high results from self and team members.
  • Take feedback from leads and director and properly reflect it in the work.
  • Can work to specification and to schedule in an existing pipeline, and equally work with minimal instruction if needed.
  • Actively participate in the constant improvement of work methods and pipelines.
  • Share knowledge and recommend best practices in your area of operation.
  • Interact and communicate effectively with peers.
  • Be Flexible in learning what it takes to adapt to new design requirements.

Requirements:

  • Should be a very strong visualizer, cracking compelling animation concepts that take the whole game experience to a new level.
  • Strong and proven 2D animation skills.
  • Knowledge of mobile game pipeline, tools and anything else surrounding implementation of animation assets into the Unity game-engine.
  • Proven experience of working on 2D Casual social and/or mobile games across different genres.
  • Experience working on Unity engine.
  • Proficient to expert knowledge in Photoshop, animate, and associated animation design tools. Your design portfolio should demonstrate an excellent eye for observations and animation visuals, purposeful use of colors, and strong UI skills.
  • Your work should show a deep appreciation for simple and usable interfaces.
  • Should be good at sketching, animation, Illustration, and game effects.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced cross-functional team environment.
  • Ability to communicate visually, and to identify and define visual design issues and solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree in animation, design-related discipline.
  • 6+ experience 2d animations with minimum 3 years in games development.
  • Experience in creating artwork/UI for games and apps is a plus.
  • Prior experience with version control software such as Bitbucket and SourceTree.
  • Good Communication Skills.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.
  • Positive attitude and a genuine team player and quick learner.
  • Passion for games and a good understanding of what makes a game visually stunning and Fun to play.
  • Be creative! Be a problem solver! Openly suggest more and dynamic ways to do things, and back them up by trying.
