Job Description
The job function of a UL Associate Environmental Field Technician is to be in training to test, inspect and diagnose a building (or an area of a building), quickly, efficiently during normal conditions and occupancy. The Associate Environmental Field Technician will be aware of the quality and environmental aspects of the company through the various procedures documents. He/she will ensure that the significant environmental impacts are reduced. **
Responsibilities**
The functions undertaken on site are to; analyse the systems, building construction and building operations, utilise a relevant testing and sampling regime, collect data, readings and samples and collate all information in order that an objective and comprehensive report can be produced. This is intended to aid the client in correcting existing problems and identify potential problems. Upon completion of the field works and when time allows, you may also assist in the preparation of clients' reports. The Trainee Consultant will report directly to their Regional Deputy Operations Manager.
Role and Responsibilities
- Preparation for field works
- Undertake field works and collect data comprehensively following the correct UL procedure and using the correct methods of data collection
- Ensure that the environmental impacts of the company on site are controlled
- Write client reports to a competent standard
- Manage report production
- Upkeep / calibration of UL test instruments and equipment
- Manage office / site / working from home time to maximize productivity
Qualifications
- Academic background in Engineering / Science and educated to degree level or equivalent
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, Excel etc.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, fluent in English language. A foreign language would be a plus.
- Excellent skills in: team work, following directions from senior personnel, presenting a good image to clients and co-workers.
- Demonstrated ability to: Willingness to learn, working hard to understand technical information concerning the environment and. Good communication skills and an ability to handle sensitive or confidential information
- This role includes the use of ladders. Ability to work at heights
- UK driving license
