General Manager Job Description 


The General Manager is responsible for supervising Assistant General Managers, Deck Managers, Swim Instructors, Office Staff, and Lifeguards while executing essential duties necessary for efficient operation of a facility. 


Qualifications: 

  • Must pass drug test and background check  
  • Minimum 1 year management experience  
  • Able to work evenings and Saturdays 
  • Thorough knowledge of P&L Management 
  • Ability to lead and motivate others  
  • Ability to recognize problems and implement solutions  
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment  
  • Ability to operate a computer with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook  
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance  
  • Ability to create and implement growth strategies 
  • Typing minimum 45 wpm  
  • Willing to obtain CPO and LGI certificate at a future date  


Responsibilities: 

  • Hire, train, and mentor new staff members
  • Create staff schedules and lifeguard schedules. monitor substitutes and attendance. 
  • Oversee the following duties and responsibilities and delegate to Assistant Managers as needed. Including, but not limited to:
    • Maintain pool and equipment, including maintenance
    • Deposits and end of month financial reports
    • Enforcing credit and refund policies 
    • Oversee promotions and offer solutions for non-promoting students  
    • Address and resolve parent complaints
    • Complete bi-weekly inventory ordering of retail, chemicals, uniforms, supplies, etc 
    • Assist/lead monthly staff meetings 
    • Assist in hiring, terminations, and staff evaluations 
    • Maintain new teacher training checklists and monitor training
    • Report KPI’s via a daily sales email to upper management 
    • Process daily manager logs through Trello
  • Teach swimming lessons, Deck Manage, work front desk, Lifeguard as needed
