Primary Objective:

YUZU is seeking indicators of interest from  Commercial Paralegals in Malaysia with experience of working for or with financial institutions who are readily available to undertake upcoming client assignments. In this role, you will support our international financial institutions, playing a crucial part in our banking and finance legal operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate, review, and draft a wide range of general commercial and procurement contracts for large financial institutions, to ensure accuracy and completeness. 
  • Maintain an organized contract repository, ensuring that all contracts adhere to the necessary regulatory requirements and internal protocols.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of contract templates and legal processes to streamline contract management.
  • Stay informed about legal and regulatory developments relevant to banking contracts and procurement processes.
  • Assist in the negotiation and preparation of commercial contracts, conducting due diligence exercises, and ensuring timely execution of contracts.
  • Manage administrative tasks related to contract management, including meticulous record-keeping and efficient document retrieval.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in law in a common law jurisdiction or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in negotiating and reviewing general commercial and procurement contracts, preferably within the banking or financial services industry.
  • Strong comprehension of contract law, contract negotiation, and contract management, with a focus on retail commercial banking.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in contract management, record-keeping, and document management.
  • Effective teamwork and collaboration skills.
