Job description

Education Assistant (Contract Position)

Location: Mississauga, ON

Salary: $16 per hour

Contract Duration: 3 months (with the possibility of extension)

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Education Assistant. This is a contract position with a duration of 3 months, and full-time hours will be provided. As an Education Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our educational consulting services, assisting our team in providing high-quality educational guidance and solutions to our clients. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about education, with strong organizational and communication skills, to contribute to the success of our company and make a positive impact on students' educational journeys.

Responsibilities:

  1. Administrative Support: Provide administrative assistance to the education consulting team, including managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and coordinating meetings with clients and educational institutions.
  2. Client Communication: Assist in communicating with clients, both in person and via email or phone, to gather information, answer inquiries, and provide updates on educational programs and services.
  3. Research and Analysis: Conduct research on various educational programs, institutions, and scholarship opportunities to stay informed about the latest trends and offerings. Analyze and summarize information to provide valuable insights and recommendations to the education consulting team and clients.
  4. Documentation Management: Maintain organized and up-to-date electronic and physical files, ensuring the confidentiality and security of sensitive client information. Prepare and assemble documentation for client meetings, presentations, and reports.
  5. Application Support: Assist clients in preparing and submitting applications for educational programs, scholarships, and other opportunities. Provide guidance on application requirements, deadlines, and procedures, ensuring accuracy and completeness of documentation.
  6. Data Entry and Reporting: Accurately enter and update client information, progress notes, and other relevant data into our internal systems. Generate reports and maintain statistics to track client engagement and program outcomes.
  7. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with the education consulting team and other support staff to ensure effective teamwork and the delivery of exceptional service to clients. Provide assistance to colleagues as needed and contribute to a positive work environment.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in a related field is an asset.
  • Experience with PARIS an asset
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LearnWorlds, Moodle, etc.) an asset
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; additional language proficiency is a plus.
  • Proficient computer skills, including MS Office Suite and database management.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian education system, including post-secondary institutions, programs, and admissions processes, is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, attention to detail, and a customer-centric approach.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and establish positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
