Job description

The Company

Our client is full service, asset-based global 3PL freight forwarder. They offer strategic international supply chain & logistics solutions for growing manufacturing, retail & e-commerce businesses. My client is a subsidiary of a group that has over 60 years of market experience dedicated to providing innovative cargo transportation and freight service.

The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Director Business Development within the Reefer team. This role will be responsible for directly selling carrier capacity, generating new business, diversifying the customer base, and increasing sales volumes of the refrigerated cargo market. This role will be heavily focused on winning and maintaining new business relationships with the temperature-controlled food industry (poultry, protein, fruit and veg). Identifying potential customers and develop an entrance strategy of cold calling, qualifying and effectively connecting with prospective business partners.

The Person

The right candidate will ideally be an established new business hunter within NVOC & Reefer. You should have a network of clients who require carrier capacity for SE and US Trade Lanes.

- Minimum 4+ Years sales experience within the Reefer market
- Strong business and financial acumen
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
- Ability to effectively solve problems
- Creative and able to adapt quickly to change
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
