As an organisation we have an ambitious strategy to consolidate and build upon our position as a leading SaaS provider into the education market, and we are seeking expert legal counsel to join Tribal to play a key role in this next stage of our organisations evolution.

The RoleThrough the provision of expert legal counsel this role has an outstanding opportunity to really positively influence at an organisational level. The postholder will also play an instrumental role in supporting the evolution of Tribals legal and contract management structures to truly align with a best-in-class SaaS organisation.

We are therefore keen to speak to individuals with deep expertise operating within the global SaaS & tech sector with a passion for providing commercially astute and operationally effective legal counsel. We would be happy to discuss this role with individuals in positions such as Deputy General Counsel, General Counsel, Senior Legal Counsel, Legal Counsel.

Our Commercial and Legal Team play a key role in contributing to a healthy, robust, yet commercially focussed governance framework and culture. The team supports the global business in a wide range of activities, including contracts, intellectual property, data protection, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, dispute resolution and real property. The team consistently provide expertise and high quality commercial legal advice at levels of the business.

Key Areas of Expertise:Operating with a high degree of autonomy, and with expertise in the SaaS market, key responsibilities will include: - Providing advice and proactive support to our global sales and executive leadership teams on all software and services agreements, - Leading legal and commercial negotiations with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. - Responsibility for concluding other commercial contracts (NDAs, re-seller agreements, services agreements, consulting agreements). - Ensuring compliance with data protection legislation and other compliance matters. - Ensuring the company’s intellectual property rights are sufficiently protected. - Supporting the wider business in a range of corporate law activities - Advise and support the business in areas such as contracts, dispute resolution and risk and commercial parameters. - Collaborating with a range of colleagues to meet the complex legal needs of the business. - Advising and resolving any disputes or other regulatory issues.

The Person: - Strong and demonstrable in-house legal experience with a focus on commercial law, intellectual property law and data protection law in a SaaS business - Strong understanding of contract law and negotiation. - Must have experience of UK government frameworks. - Excellent communication and inter-personal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. - Excellent drafting skills. - Comfortable working with C-suite members and to advise the board. - Comfortable working in non-UK jurisdictions and some flexibility around working with other time zones.
