Job Description

We are seeking a talented, creative and quality-driven software engineer who will be involved in all aspects of software development including writing code, unit testing, producing documentation, code review of peers and release. The successful candidate will be working within a Scrum team of generally 6-10 in a wider group of several teams.

The successful candidate will have the ability to solve technical challenges, apply strong attention to detail and work collaboratively with colleagues including other developers, the QA team, product owners and the wider company.

UL360, based in Cambridge, develops, sells and supports a large-scale SaaS enterprise platform on a diverse suite of products centered around ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) and Sustainability. Our platform consists of a mixture of older code in a monolith architecture written in C# on a .NET Framework and newer micro services. The direction of travel is towards greater agility; continuous delivery and greater automation in both deployment and testing.

The team are largely remote but we have an office in Cambridge. Software Engineering staff can choose to come in every day or be almost fully remote, with a few team meetings a year for business-wide technical design & delivery sessions (plus socials!). **

Qualifications

2 plus years of experience of common tools and technologies such as (but not limited to) Microsoft Visual Studio, C#, .NET Framework and .NET Core on Windows platforms, HTML 5, CSS 2.1+ and JavaScript (REACT/redux, Typescript and/or Node.js)
Knowledge of various database technologies (Oracle/SQL Server, MongoDB/CosmosDB etc)
Experience of using management system such as Jira, Azure DevOps
Experience of writing unit tests
Ability to work effectively as part of an agile team
Strong verbal and written communication skills
