Throughout this part-time program, there are many opportunities to gain insight and exposure to our business that will last a lifetime.

Ford Champs program will allow to get to now different business areas through 12 to 24 months, while you improve your skills and become a better professional.

The engineer must have the ability to understand and analyze real-world physical phenomena and be able to develop Finite Element Analysis (FEA) models to describe them. Daily responsibilities include using Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) methods as tools to provide fundamental understanding, advancing product designs, optimizations and making design recommendations to ensure designs are robust and manufacturable. These designs must meet all necessary internal quality and customer requirements and be executed in the most cost - effective manner. **

Responsibilities**

  • Conduct finite element analysis and other computer aided analysis to solve technical challenges of automotive components and systems. Support initiatives and efforts to yield new products using GPDS (Global Product Development System) as a single common product creation process, to reduce time to market, engineering changes, and physical prototype builds.
  • Candidate must be on site at least twice per week for activities.
  • Perform detailed FEA analyses to verify the vehicle attribute targets, through a consistent CAE Plan based on analytical Design Verification Methods (DVM) and linked to SDS/ARL (System Design Specifications/Attribute Requirement Lists)
  • Interact with the design teams (D&R (Design & Release), CAD (Computer Assisted Design) and VE (Vehicle Engineering)) to achieve the project scope, technical deliverables, timeline, validation plan, cost targets and documentation.
  • Offer feasible engineering solutions to design problems based on FEA and physical test results.
  • Use CAE methods to guide new designs collaborating with CAD, D&R, and suppliers.
  • Support new programs and Cost reduction initiatives through CAE methods.
  • Collaborate with physical testing engineers as well as other CAE engineers to develop and improve CAE methods needed to achieve high correlation rate between physical and virtual analysis.
  • Proactive participation on validation process
  • Identify training needs
