Summary**

The Senior Civil Engineer will collaborate with project teams on various civil engineering and related technical projects, primarily within the renewable energy and power delivery sectors. Responsibilities encompass conducting and supervising civil design tasks, supporting engineers and clients in solar project development, performing site assessments and preparing technical reports, and fulfilling various additional tasks. The Senior Civil Engineer will report to the Director of Civil Engineering.

The position is located in Eden Prairie, MN. Hybrid or remote location considered. **

Essential Functions And Responsibilities**

  • Balance leading multiple project teams while maintaining client and team communication
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple disciplines (survey, electrical, structural & geotechnical)
  • Determine staffing projections and allocation of resources for multiple projects
  • Manage, coach, and lead multiple teams
  • Performs regular check ins with project teams to ensure projects are on track
  • Monitors implementation of QA/QC procedures on each project.
  • Performs Quality Control reviews
  • Audits our standard offerings and internal procedures to suggest improvements or innovations that better serve our clients or increase efficiency
  • Business development with existing and potential new clients
  • Participate in interviews of potential new hires as needed
  • Conduct performance reviews
  • Prepares proposals for new project pursuits.
  • Serves as a technical expert in the civil-solar field.
  • Coordinate contract reviews, identify scope creep and prepare change orders

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of relevant experience with 2-3 years’ experience is the solar industry.
  • Civil solar projects creating layouts, buildable area maps, grading plans, erosion control, permitting, SWPPP and supporting contractors in the field.
  • Experience managing people and conducting performance reviews.
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • Proficient with AutoCAD Civil3D
  • Designing and permitting stormwater management systems background
  • Experience in erosion control design and Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills, detail orientated and flexible
  • Team player with effective communication skills
