Job Description

The Network Planning Analyst position is a remote role, performed from any location worldwide, that reports into the Director of Network Engineering and Operations role. It is a key role that aligns and manages Network demand, current and future, with inventory and resource availability. The position performs a wide range of mission-critical duties and requires functions completed with precision, planned with consideration of delivery and implementation intervals, linked to dependencies and critical path items, and presented with clear and concise language.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Produce documented plans for the successful implementation or upgrades of core network functionality, physical interconnections to other networks, hardware installations and upgrades, licenses expansions or utilization, software installations and upgrades, service migrations, and design changes.

- Plan the onboarding and integration of new carriers and/or new carrier products into the Network.

- Monitoring all Network capacity and resources, develop triggers and reports, produce trend-based augments plans, and create detailed projection models based on multiple demand scenarios.

- Track, maintain records, and perform inventory control for all Network hardware, power, licenses, software, firmware, support agreements, circuits, cross connects, and third-party infrastructure.

- Replenish, or complete planned expansion, of Network resources and assets in a cost effective and timely fashion to ensure exhaustion does not occur.

- Pro-actively distribute current vendor contact, location, access, and escalation information to Operations staff to facilitate timely and seamless communication during service impairment or outage conditions.

- Provide instructions and support to AireSpring departments on Network components for insurance, purchasing, provisioning, usage, location, support contracts, service contract, and features discussion activities.

The Network Planning Analyst works tightly and daily with these seven AireSpring departments, in addition to Network equipment vendors and service providers:

- Network Engineering and Operations

- Voice Engineering and Operations

- HPBX Engineering and Operations

- Access Product Management

- Product Management

- Finance

- Information Technology

Qualifications

Qualifications for the Network Planning Analyst role:

- Possess solid overall understanding of Network infrastructure and operations for routers, switches, voice platforms, security devices, licenses, software, power, inside plant engineering, support contracts, OSI layers, transport and transmission, encapsulation methods, aggregation methods, and inventory management.

- Be adept in devising methods to capture and store data, generating reports, and producing trend material.

- Proven history of producing highly detailed Network planning documents that outline the tactical and strategic methods, with justifications, on planned changes taking place on a Network.

- Expert in the fabrication and maintenance of complex Microsoft Excel spreadsheets that integrate past, current, and future datapoints into multi-faceted cost and resource scaling models.

- Capable of consistently applying diligence and focus on data, and ensuring information presented to others is correct.

- Network Engineering functional experience in a service provider environment for a minimum of 3 years.

- Background in financial modeling and vendor negotiations.
