Job Overview**

A Program Manager is responsible for the overall management for his scope of services. The Footprint Verification services is responsible for the Carbon Footprint verification for entity/corporate level claims. The position works directly with the Director to ensure that the program’s profit, quality control procedures, technical standards and overall day-to- day operations are continuously improved and maintained. The Program Manager collaborates with his colleagues within the division, including Marketing, Sales and Customer Services. Additionally, the Program Manager is responsible for representing SCS through relevant industry meetings, tradeshows and/or standard development committees. **

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Responsible for program profitability.
  • Reports P&L to Director.
  • Maintains program quality control and applicable accreditations.
  • Conducts all phases of certification audits.
  • Manages support staff through training, audit assignments, and professional/technical development.
  • Builds program bottom line by leading sales opportunities with new leads as they come in
  • Ensures program operations are efficiently maximized.
  • Conducts training and program specific technical oversight.
  • Completes technical reviews and certification decisions (as able).
  • Maintains program quality through continual review process
  • Actively participates in all required division/program meetings.
  • Supports the division managers, sales and marketing teams as required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field;
  • Experience and strong network within a variety of Industries;
  • Experience in Greenhouse Gas accounting through consulting and verification;
  • Experience and strong knowledge within the environmental sustainability industry, specifically third party certification
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in:
  • Program Development;
  • Program Management;
  • Consulting Services;
  • Verification/Auditing services;
  • Staff Management.
  • Strong leadership, communication and negotiation skills
  • Highly organized with well-developed organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bi-lingual/multi-lingual preferred (e.g. Mandarin, Hindi)
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field (Environmental Sustainability, Materials Science, etc.

Physical Requirements

This position is primarily a desk-based job, with occasional travel to client sites. Ability to sit/stand at a computer station for 6+ hours/day, keyboard 6+ hours/day, ability to travel via private/public transportation and carry luggage, and ability to walk/stand for 2+ hours/day when auditing. **
