Job Summary**
As the Senior Network Engineer, you will be the wireless subject-matter expert for the network team. This role is responsible for both designing and implementing wireless network and security best practices with infrastructure and architectural requirements for on premises and cloud deployments. The Engineer will help establish and implement solutions to difficult engineering and security problems, serving as the technical subject matter expert resource for wireless troubleshooting. The Engineer will mature enterprise wireless solutions to meet business goals and support global IT counterparts. The role identifies assets and assesses risks, and threats in accordance with accepted business and regulations to ensure security design integrity, availability, and confidentiality compliance. This position supports Spectrum Brands’ global divisions. **
Primary Duties & Responsibilities**
- Develop and implement wireless technology solutions, presenting to the leadership team for approval and consulting with the architect team on anything moving forward with production.
- Respond to technical wireless questions and/or concerns timely, running meetings, as appropriate, with involved/interested parties, and communicating/executing problem resolution and follow-up.
- In coordination with the Architectural standards, develop wireless migrations plans, research solutions to wireless and security technical issues, along with providing wireless security technical leadership and guidance during the engineering design and build phase.
- Provide leadership to deploy, monitor, test and tune wireless network devices and systems to provide optimal security and performance.
- Support and deploy network routing and switching hardware and software in accordance with established network policies.
- Deploy state-of-art technology to meet the business needs and interface with business units regarding technical planning and network issues.
- Provide automation scripts that help identify issues on a regular basis.
- Utilize best practices and risk tolerances frameworks.
- Perform system testing and recommend remediation efforts for system vulnerabilities.
- Monitor wireless network and security controls, audit devices and detect for possible security incidents.
- Monitor for wireless network performance, potential threats, identification of trends, and assessment of system vulnerabilities and performance.
- Working with the Architect, investigate current cyber security threats and provide IT leadership with timely communication updates.
- Working with the Architect, assist with infrastructure and application security architecture design and implement solutions to difficult engineering and security problems.
- Drive the use of security tools to analyze, assess, and prioritize resolution based on the potential impact.
- Working with the Architect, assist in the development of enterprise solutions to meet business goals and support IT counterparts around the globe.
- Work with teammates and the larger security community to maintain and improve tools that align and facilitate modern security best practices.
- Enforce all company policies and procedures.
- Along with the Architect, plan, research, design, and implement elements of hardware and software technologies.
- Research, recommend and develop wireless security and risk mitigation solutions.
- Prepare documentation, including department policies and procedures, business notifications, and security alerts.
Education and Experience Profile
- Minimum Associate's degree in CS or equivalent, Bachelors preferred
- A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience with a combination of functional technical experience with aspects of major enterprise business systems and related technologies
- Minimum five (5) years of experience working Enterprise Wireless solutions (Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, etc.)
- Experience in designing/troubleshooting complex warehouse wireless solutions
- Cisco routing/switching knowledge at the CCNP level (with or without the certification)
- A history of designing, deploying, configuring, supporting, troubleshooting, and debugging wireless networks
- Must have experience in at least 10 of the following:
- Azure networking
- Cisco Routing and Switching
- Cisco ISE, Aruba Clearpass, Enterprise grade RADIUS
- Experience working with Windows and Linux systems
- LDAPS, SAML, RADIUS, and TACACS+ authentication methods
- Basic Microsoft Active Directory (AD)
- PowerShell, Perl and/or Python scripting
- Public key infrastructure
- Wireshark and other tools for TCP/IP packet capture analysis
- Experience with Ekahau for site surveys
- Cisco/Juniper Mist/Aruba/etc wireless
- Design & validate radio frequency link performance, quality, and reliability
- Strong troubleshooting and optimization of wireless systems
- Documentation of wireless systems to include Visio diagrams
