Position Summary...

About Team:**
OMS team is responsible for orchestrating the purchase order journey till it reaches the warehouses/store/fulfilment centres. This is a high scale system and works like a state machine manager for the domestic as well as import purchase order and stock transer order lifecycle. OMS directly impacts supplier satisfaction by ensuring that orders and any changes are always transparent and timely, and indirectly impacts customer satisfaction by ensuring right inventory is available in the supply chain at the right time. OMS is a plaform that also keeps track of the overall flow of the business pipelines for purchase orders and allows for real time response to any anomalies in the end to end experience. We build best in class systems using cutting edge tech to achieve our goals at high scale. Team’s mission is to build next generation systems that modernizes how Walmart orders inventory from the global supplier and marketplace seller network, and tracks the entire order journey till it reaches the demand fulfilment points in the supply chain like stores and fulfilment centres. OMS is envisioned to bring in agility and intelligence to supplier ordering, increases collaboration with suppliers/sellers, and cuts down manual touches by suppliers, merchant operations and merchants.
In this role, you will lead a team responsible to build multi-tenant systems that that integrate with a large number of applications and become a strong stakeholder for planning and vision with product / business counterparts. **

- building and leading highly productive teams by mentoring managers and team members

- building end-to-end systems that integrate distributed systems, combinatorial-optimisation systems and Machine-Learning systems

- making data driven decisions, tracking and showing continuous improvement in engineering-excellence and operational-excellence metrics
- define and execute associate training and development plan, career plan, goal settings, regular performance reviews and feedback, development opportunities, performance appraisal and promotions.
What you'll bring:
⁃ Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
⁃ 15+ years of experience mentoring and leading teams. At least 5 years of experience as a second- level managers handling multiple teams of engineers.
⁃ Proven experience in building high-performance teams and scalable best-practices in SaaS/Online/Enterprise Product engineering organization
⁃ Excellent logical and problem-solving skills.
⁃ Excellent verbal and written communication with stakeholders in a matrix environment. Building partnerships is a critical expectation for this role.
⁃ Experience in Distributed Systems Design for fault tolerance and high availability
⁃ Experience in multi-threading for speeding up computations on multi-core processors
⁃ Building for “as a service” model where components are multi-tenant, customizable and can be leveraged across Walmart’s business verticals, and potentially with a partner ecosystem
⁃ Experience in working with big data technologies such as Spark/Storm/Hadoop/Data Lake Architectures is a big plus.
⁃ Experience with CI/CD processes and design for high scale, availability, testability and extensibility. **
Technical Skills**
⁃ Languages - Java/J2EE, Spring boot
⁃ Hands on experience in Micro Services Architecture and Event Driven Architectures
⁃ Cloud - Azure, GCP
⁃ Engineering & Operational Excellence – CI/CD pipelines, Telemetry, DevOps automation of infra/app/services deployment & tear down, Performance monitoring of throughput & latency, scale and stability of services, Rigor in change management (code/config/infra) to improve change success rate
⁃ Messaging Queues - Kafka, RabbitMQ, ApacheMQ
⁃ Scripting - Unix, Shell and python
⁃ Database - Cassandra, MySQL/AzureSQL, Elastic Search
