Job Description

The Global Extranet Suppliers Connectivity team plans and delivers connectivity services between Ford, its Joint Ventures, Suppliers, and Trade Partners. These solutions include firewalls (physical and virtual), virtual hosting systems, VPN solutions, management tools, security, and remote access solutions. The group is responsible for creating, maintaining, and auditing the firewall rules interface with multiple internal customers (like Cyber Security and Ford Credit) and external customers like ANX, ENX, and multiple suppliers.

The Extranet Supplier Connectivity is a global service providing remote connectivity to thousands of suppliers & trading partners worldwide. We have a global team, with people based in the US, Spain, UK and India.

Key activities include:

  • Create new firewall rules to support access needed.
  • Maintain supplier access list.
  • Interface with Cyber Security response teams.
  • Audit firewall rules.
  • Translate the business requirements into firewall rules to support access to internal resources.
  • Liaise with various third-party teams (e.g., supplier network team, ISPs, application and service owners, cyber security) who provide components of the solution.
  • Provide 3rd level technical support to the Extranet Operations team.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Ford's key stakeholders to understand their requirements for suppliers’ connectivity.
  • Design supplier’s connectivity based on requirements. Suggest the best solution for each case.
  • Ability to create, peer review, and implement change requests.
  • Conduct regular firewall rule reviews, optimizations, and updates to ensure maximum efficiency and security.
  • Scripting/Automation of firewall rules management in order to foster team efficiency and quality.
  • Support delivery of Ford Networks / Extranet projects.
  • Support Zero Trust implementation by creating and implementing access rules.
  • Develop and enforce policies for least privilege access, micro-segmentation (as needed), and continuous monitoring.
  • Incident Response and Troubleshooting: Provide level 3 support for firewall-related incidents, as needed.
  • Collaborate with the incident response or threat analysis team to analyze and mitigate security incidents.
  • Security Audits and Compliance: Conduct regular security audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and internal security policies.

Qualifications

Successful Candidate will have:

  • 5+ years in Firewall systems administration and operation, preferably Cisco ASA / Firepower platforms, using Cisco Service Manager (CSM), Firepower Management Console (FMC), or Palo Alto Strata Cloud Manager.
  • 3+ years of experience with Prisma Access / Strata Cloud Manager: Configuration, scripting, management, troubleshooting, policy creation/management.
  • 5+ years of experience operating and troubleshooting TCP/IP and Ethernet-based networks in enterprise network environments, including knowledge of IP protocols. Solid experience with Cisco / Palo Alto technology, including routing, switching & security.
  • Automation/Scripting skills and experience.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of API management tools.
  • Moderate to advanced knowledge of coding, network automation, orchestration, virtualization, and/or Security.
  • IPSec VPN - setup, configuration, troubleshooting, management.
  • Hands-on experience with Data Network Security, Segmentation, and Zero Trust Network Access – ZTNA
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and with a diverse population, both in skill set, management level, and geographic location.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking to function effectively in ambiguous circumstances.
  • Strong attention to detail and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple issues at once.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including system administrators, network engineers, and cybersecurity experts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
