Job description

The Associate Sales Engineer (ASE) will provide technical sales expertise for class II infusion therapy medical devices, focused on IV Informatics, safety software and corresponding infusion pumps. The ASE will work with a regional sales team that covers multiple states and assist other sales teams/opportunities as assigned by leadership. Primary responsibilities include working the technical sales activities in conjunction with ICU Medical Device Sales Specialists. This includes attending sales presentations, customer engagement calls, supporting clinical trials, conducting technical proof of concepts, supporting reference accounts, covering trade shows, product demonstrations and maintaining a demonstration kit. These activities will require industry knowledge and specific healthcare informatics workflows with electronic medical records (EMR’s) and expertise in the field of medical device web-based, client server application technology, wireless device connectivity, cybersecurity, WAN/LAN TCP/IP networks, relational database management systems, and real-time location services all around highly integrated, interoperable clinical information systems. **

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for assisting with the technical sales of ICU Medical products in partnership with the Device Sales team by providing technical sales to the customer technical team, conducting related product demonstrations of ICU Medical connected IV systems, and IV-EMR integration.
  • Support product demonstrations for ICU Medical connected IV systems, IV-EMR integration and provide technical expertise at conventions/trade shows as assigned.
  • Technical resource for the sales team to respond to customer technical questions and help increase the technical understanding of the sales team through various training opportunities.
  • Strive to maintain knowledge in all ICU Medical network connected products sold in your markets
  • The ASE will also be responsible to learn knowledge on ICU Medical competitor offerings to communicate technical differentiation.
  • Provide customer and market feedback to device and software global marketing to influence and impact product enhancements, features, and new product development.
  • Highly motivated and self-managed individual that can balance multiple projects, support meetings at times that support worldwide activities, and achieve superior results.
  • Always adhere to ICU Medical’s quality and regulatory compliance requirements, without exception, and ensures that all job duties inherent in the position description are performed in accordance with established policies and procedures.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including excellent presentation skills
  • The ability to receive and communicate technical information
  • Organized and multi-tasking oriented
  • Must be a leader and be able to marshal resources in a complex matrix environment
  • Able to work independently

Minimum Qualifications, Education & Experience

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Associate degree from an accredited college or university is required
  • 2+ years’ experience in IT/Networking
  • Sales Experience, including demonstration of products preferred
  • Knowledge of IT (Wireless Networks, Client/Server applications, etc.) systems and some hands-on experience
  • Experience in working with, managing, and resolving customer problems and issues preferred
  • Experience with Excel, Word, MS Project, and Visio preferred
  • Position requires active and current compliance with all credentialing requirements, including COVID-19 vaccination, to perform the essential function of your role at customer locations.

Work Environment

  • This is largely a sedentary role but does require frequent travel
  • Work may be performed in a home office using standard office equipment, as well as on-site at customer locations.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit, stand and walk for long periods of time; depending on the needs of a customer
  • As part of the scope of employment, the employee must hold a valid driver’s license as well as comply and meet the requirements set forth in the Authorized Driver Policy to drive on behalf of the company.
  • Must be able to occasionally move and lift objects of up to 50 lbs.
  • Typically requires travel more than 65% of the time and may require occasional international travel.

This role is based remotely; the incumbent may be remote in any state other than Colorado; California; Connecticut; Montana, Maine or New York.
