The Business Development Manager, Northern California leads the Business Development activities to maximize order for the assigned territories and/or assigned customers.

Responsibilities:**

  • Ensure our customers view us as competent, fair, and great partners.
  • Maintain excellent supplier relationships with Engineers, Consultants, Gas Companies, Government Organizations, and Financial Partners.
  • Work directly with commercial and industrial end users.
  • Clearly articulate the economic value proposition of our onsite power solutions offering to the customer.
  • Attend local and regional trade shows and attempt to be a presenter as often as possible.
  • Report all sales activities through our CRM system.
  • Put in place operating rhythms, dashboards, and SWAT analysis so everyone in the organization can quickly understand the status of projects in sales phase.
  • Provide “lunch & learn” presentations at Engineering & Consulting Firms.
  • Clearly communicate with Applications Engineering the customer requirement so that they can accurately source vendor offerings.
  • Cold call on new engineers, consultants, and end customers.
  • Provide vision/guidance to team on upcoming orders.

Requirements:

  • Maintain excellent supplier relationships with Engineers, Consultants, Gas Companies, Government Organizations, and Financial Partners.
  • Ability and experience maintaining excellent relationships with commercial & industrial end users as well as Key Account customers such as consulting engineers, developers and EPC firms.
  • Experience in giving product & application presentations for a diverse customer base to increase awareness and demand for our offerings and capabilities.
  • The desire to listen and understand a customer's desired outcome and then have the tenacity to continue to find solutions to meet their needs.
  • The ability to clearly articulate the economic value proposition of our onsite power solutions to customers.
  • Act as the customer's partner through every step of the sales and development process.
  • Understand technical concepts related to distributed power generation, combined heat and power, biogas power generation, and microgrid applications.
  • Put in place operating rhythms, dashboards, and SWAT analysis so everyone in the organization can quickly understand the status of projects in sales phase.
  • Attend local and regional trade shows and attempt to be a presenter as often as possible Report all sales activity through our CRM system.
  • Help create a customer focused, collaborative, continuous improvement culture.

YOU MIGHT ALSO HAVE:

  • A minimum of three (3) years of sales experience in Power Generation or Energy Sector in lieu of Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Experience in relevant technologies such as gas engines, solar, energy storage or microgrids. EPC or project development experience in the power generation sector.
