We are seeking a remote Senior Backend NodeJS Engineer to join a U.S. based distributed team of senior engineers to deliver market-leading software solutions. The ideal candidate would also have experience working in a startup environment building consumer-facing software that has many users.

Responsibilities:

● You will own technical strategy for data-heavy web services architecture

● You’ll participate in the strategic development of methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for projects

● You will build your own team of backend, data, and ML engineers as we grow our
customer base and automation

●You will build real-time, cloud-based web services and REST APIs to enable reliable and
scalable conversational messaging applications

● You will work with AI experts and data engineers to architect and implement real-time
data pipelines to support our NLP and ML needs.

● You'll brainstorm with Product Managers, Designers, and Frontend Engineering to
conceptualize and build new features.

● You’ll develop & implement tests for ensuring the quality, performance, & scalability of our
application.

● You’ll improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes

Qualifications:

● Experience with Node.js, SQL, NoSQL (Python, Ruby experience a huge plus)

● Professional experience in cloud engineering, working in a team environment

● 5+ years of experience building, testing, and deploying REST APIs

● Deep knowledge of real-time messaging service platforms

● You possess strong computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms,
programming languages, distributed systems, and information retrieval

● Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience

● Experience with functional or imperative programming languages -- e.g., PHP, Python or Go (used without frameworks)

● Experience working with large scale GCP environments

• Mobile messaging platforms, conversational bots
• Extensive experience managing remote teams
• Experience with large-scale, high-velocity data systems
• Worked with ML and data engineers in the past on implementing and integrating ML models and building data pipelines

Strong preference for candidates from the United States.
