Overview of the role:**
This role will lead the Retail Commercial Analytics Team in NA. The team’s core objective is to generate revenue for Circana through selling analytics solutions to retailers across the region. The team works with retailers to help them make better data-led business decisions across key areas of their business, such as price, promotions and assortment using a blend of Circana’s custom and AlwaysOn Analytics solutions with EPOS and Loyalty data. This role will lead a dedicated team of 9 Analytical Consultants and be responsible for Go To Market strategy, sales, scoping and supporting delivery for retail clients across NA. Circana operates a matrix structure, this role will collaborate with Retail Commercial Teams to identify new business opportunities with retailers and also collaborate with Technology and Product Teams to ensure that we are influencing the analytics solutions roadmap in the best way to continue to develop compelling value add solutions for retail clients. **
Main role responsibilities:**
Business Development:
- Set department strategy, goals and objectives
- Developing Analytics new business by designing and proposing new approaches & ways of working and identifying opportunities within core client base and new client verticals
- Developing solution portfolio across EPOS and Loyalty data, including all retailer types (CPG & GM)
Account and Project Management:
- Strong communication skills; being seen as knowledgeable of CPG/ GM, retail and analytics sector
- Taking responsibility for own accounts and ensuring quality delivery of programs by team and near shore modelling team
- Owning NA Retail Analytics P&L and revenue reporting / tracking
- To be responsible for supporting team in scoping, managing and implementing analyses to address clients’ business issues
- Ability to drive senior level engagement and be confident presenting to top level management
- Working across all retailers (CPG and General Merchandise) with the on-site teams to pro-actively approach retailers with proposed solutions or answering RFPs, including analytics RFPs and wider pitches where analytics solutions are included
Internal Management and Coaching:
- Working with the Commercial Directors and retail teams to ensure that effective internal standard processes, training, and processes are followed
- Providing support and coaching with Retail Client Service teams on Circana processes & methodologies, products & services
- Working closely with Retail Client Service team to share updates and solutions
Functional Expertise And Experience
- Solid, relevant market research and CPG industry experience
- Previous experience having worked within an agency / consultancy specializing in analytics is highly desirable for this role.
- Experience working across retail, CPG
- Experience and expertise in functional areas such as price elasticity, promotional effectiveness & assortment/space optimization.
- Track record of designing client led solutions to solve complex business issues.
- Previous international leadership experience
- Proven track record of growing business in analytics and Insight
- Expertise on using loyalty/customer/transactional data at a granular level to derive insight
- Understanding of targeted marketing for retailers from both retail and commercial point of view
- A proven track record of interpreting data, developing meaningful insights and providing value added recommendations with excellent communication/ presentation and interpersonal skills
- Good understanding of CPG industry and trends: client business and needs, market trends and other areas of the business, may be a subject matter expert in media /Price/Promotion practices within CPG
- or related industries
- Candidates must have experience of working in data-insight based consultancy roles, statistical background is desirable, but not essential
- Understanding of programming and Big Data analysis techniques. An understanding of Machine Learning and AI would be desirable, but not essential.

_The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.
