As a SAS Developer, you will be responsible for improving and writing the business specific program, developing data sets and generate reports in various formats through connecting SAS tool to different sources as input and perform data analysis using the reports created. After the groundwork has been laid, developers must test their designs to ensure the system runs smoothly and optimize wherever required. Furthermore, developers must be possessing skill set to check on what all SAS objects are being currently utilized in the project so that when SAS is planned to be migrated, all its objects must be available on the new environment as required by the Business. A skill set that many employers extensively look for is using Macros and connecting SAS to various data sources, databases, and importing data for transformations and analysis.
This means developers need to be able to read, analyse and digest what a business wants to accomplish with its data, and design the best possible SAS process around those goals. Various SAS tools used are Windows SAS, SAS DI, SAS Enterprise Guide, SAS Administrator, SAS Visual Analytics, SAS Viya etc.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Solution Architect, Business Analysts to understand business requirements, providing expert knowledge and solutions on Data Integration, ensuring delivery of business needs in a timely cost-effective manner.
  • Assist in developing project plans, assigning the appropriate technical resources and cost estimations.
  • Evaluate and optimize SAS code and design data movement, analytics delivery, data quality and archiving strategies.
  • Assess the complexity in various SAS Objects, Libraries, Files and Reports and Connect and Migrate to AWS(Cloud)
  • Lead and guide the other SAS developers in SAS development, program tunings and optimization, testing and implementation.
  • Provide Post Implementation Support to the Business and suggest for any improvements/optimizations.

Essential Skills:

  • Extensive demonstrable experience with a focus on Data Management using SAS
  • Excellent knowledge in SAS EBI Architecture.
  • Idea of migration & promotional activities in SAS environments
  • Knowledge in different SAS Application architecture like SAS Grid, SAS Distributed VA etc.
  • Interact with SMEs / Business users to understand the requirements
  • Strong understanding of business performance and analytics concepts and applications
  • Plan & track work streams for SAS Migration
  • Design and prepare technical specifications
  • Assist in project artifact documentation in business requirement documents, functional specs, flow charts and system architectures source to target mappings
  • Leverage migration work to identify additional opportunities for improvements , including code optimization and automation
  • Comprehensive understanding and ability to contribute to all phases of SDLC.
