Senior Back End Developer (JAVA)

R5 Labs EU, a dynamic tech company based in Palermo, Sicily known for the brands "Edgemony" and "Product Heroes", is building a Product Development Studio and is seeking a skilled Back End Developer proficient in JAVA to join our full remote team. As a Back End Developer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting large, global, multinational fintech organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Java Development: Utilize your expertise in Java to create robust and efficient server-side applications that power our fintech solutions. You will be responsible for coding, testing, debugging, and implementing scalable backend solutions.

• API Development: Design and implement RESTful and SOAP APIs, ensuring seamless data exchange between the front end and back end systems. Your APIs will be critical for the overall functionality of our applications.

• Microservices Architecture: Contribute to the development of microservices architecture, allowing our applications to scale efficiently. You will design, develop, and maintain microservices that enhance system performance.

• Version Control: Collaborate effectively with the development team by using tools like GIT and BitBucket for version control. You will ensure that code changes are tracked and documented systematically.

• Local Development Environment: Set up and use a local development server to facilitate testing and debugging processes, ensuring the reliability and quality of our backend systems.

• Database Management: Work with databases, including MySQL and DynamoDB, to manage data effectively. You will be responsible for optimizing queries, ensuring data integrity, and implementing security measures.

• Amazon Web Services (AWS): Leverage your knowledge of Amazon applications such as ELB, SQS, SES, SWF, and SNS to develop and deploy cloud-based solutions. You will be at the forefront of leveraging cloud technology to enhance our services.

• Play Framework: Explore the Play Framework for web application development, using it to build scalable and responsive backend systems.

• Database SQL Development: Utilize your skills in SQL development, including experience with DB2 and Oracle databases, to manage and manipulate data effectively.

• Fluency in spoken and written English
• At least 4 years of experience as a Back End Developer with expertise in Java development.
• Strong proficiency in REST, SOAP, and microservices development.
• Familiarity with development tools such as IntelliJ, GIT, and BitBucket.
• Ability to set up and use a local development server for testing.
• Experience with Java 11, Spring Boot, MySQL, and DynamoDB.
• Knowledge of Amazon applications like ELB, SQS, SES, SWF, and SNS.
• Familiarity with the Play Framework for web application development.
• Proficiency in DB2 and Oracle database SQL development.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a remote team.
