You are a rising business development professional who is skilled in pipeline development, product demos, and/or developing sales plans. As an early sales hire, you’ll employ your highly motivated personality and "hunter" mentality to proactively identify and develop new business prospects. You will be responsible for prospecting new customers in promising new verticals, cultivating a strong funnel of inbound interest, and building strong relationships with our customers.

You are a self starter who is able to drive prospects through the sales funnel. You will employ your highly motivated personality and "hunter" mentality to proactively identify and develop new business prospects.

The ideal candidate understands the basics of how SaaS and platform technology companies work, and is able to communicate technical and product benefits to both sophisticated and unsophisticated buyers.

While you don't have to have direct borrowing or lending experience, a basic understanding of the student debt and U.S. consumer debt ecosystem would be a bonus.
What you'll do:
    • Work directly with the CEO and serve as the first line of contact for new business prospects
    • Communicate Spinwheel’s value proposition to decision makers and qualify them for potential sales opportunities
    • Maintain active engagement with new and existing leads using creative follow-up strategies designed to address our prospects' interest in Spinwheel’s product
    • Do your own pipeline generation using multiple sources including account lists, prospecting tools, and individual research
    • Identifying key buying influencers within prospects to determine fit, interest, and intent
    • Effectively work through lead list meeting/exceeding SLAs, consistently managing data for new and prospective clients in the CRM System, ensuring all communications are logged, information is accurate and documents are attached to support weekly go-to-market reporting
    • Strategically research, call, and email top tier companies to acquire more customers
    • Provide voice-of-customer feedback and competitive insights to partnerships, marketing, and product teams to improve the offering, product roadmap, and go-to-market strategy
    • Discover, improve, and execute new approaches to reach our audience, including events and shows, campaigns, referrals, collateral and case studies
    • Be obsessed with hitting your numbers and supporting the rest of the growth team in achieving our collective goals for the organization.
You have:
    • 1-2 years of experience in Sales/Business Development at a tech or fintech company
    • Outbound Enterprise sales experience (email / call / linkedin / events)
    • Self-motivated with the ambition to hit monthly quotas.
    • Ability to drive activity, build a fast-paced sales environment and do pipeline generation
    • Persistence, sales spirit and objection handling skills are critical
    • A proven track record of building and maintaining strong client relationships in order to network and develop leads
    • Cold outreach (calling /emailing) experience is essential
    • Strong organisation to maximise output throughout the day and to overachieve
    • Entrepreneurial mindset with a hunger to succeed
    • Experience selling fintech and/or APIs models
    • Superior verbal and written communication skills
Bonus if you have:
    • A Bachelor's degree in Business or related area, or equivalent
    • An ownership mindset demonstrating drive, initiative, energy and a sense of urgency
    • Desire to work in an early stage startup and very motivated team
