Job description

Location: USA, 100% remote work-from-home position (You must permanently live & have the right to work in the USA to apply for this position)

Pay Rate: $15.00 USD per hour

Contract: 6-month contract with an extension highly likely - Self-employed contractor. Responsible for own taxes. No benefits.

The Role:

Twinkl is currently looking for a USA-based Native American Content Writer to create engaging and enlightening educational resources for U.S. educators, homeschoolers, and parents. You will write innovative printable and digital teaching resources for PK-8th grade that educate children about the history and culture of Indigenous and Native Peoples in the United States. The content you write will be turned into professional Twinkl products by our highly skilled design and illustration team.

You will be part of an agile team communicating via email, messaging, and video meetings. To fulfill this role, you must provide your own technology and reliable high-speed internet access.

You will need to complete 15 hours per week, every week. The hours can be worked flexibly Monday-Sunday.

Ongoing projects/how you’ll spend your day:

  • Writing standards-aligned resources for PK-8th grade educators and their students.
  • Researching educational resource trends to make sure your assigned resources will be instant hits with our millions of global members.

In this role, you will learn:

  • Content creation.
  • SEO optimization.

  • Content Editors, Content Writers, Designers, Illustrators

Requirements

To succeed in the role, you must:

  • Lived experience and expert knowledge of Indigenous and Native Peoples of the United States.
  • Show a creative, innovative, and tech-driven approach to teaching and learning.
  • Take pride in your excellent spelling, punctuation, and grammar skills.
  • Demonstrate excellent time management, organization, and technology skills.
  • Must be available for 1 hour of training, daily, Monday - Thursday between the hours of 10am - 1pm EST for the first 4 weeks
  • Must be available to attend production meetings, between 9am - 12pm EST, Monday - Thursday (Various days, depending on the type of projects we are working on at that time)

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Certified/licensed elementary or middle school educator (state-issued certification/license must be current and in good standing).
  • Experienced educator with a minimum of two years of recent classroom experience in a public school setting.
  • Proven experience teaching Native American history and culture.
