What We Are Looking For
The IT Security Engineer I position maintains and protects this organization's data, systems, and networks from threats. This multifaceted security role assists IT leadership in security design, monitoring, implementation, and incident response and recovery. This role should be technically proficient in the best practices of Cyber Security and the ability to continue gaining skills and knowledge in IT industry security. This role will also assist with IT Help Desk operations, ensuring efficient resolution of internal and external help desk tickets and providing comprehensive support to employees. With a focus on security, the IT Security Engineer leverages expertise to address both basic and high-level IT security items.
· Designs, provisions, configure, administer, monitor and protect all network devices/services. Manages all Employee/Client/Offsite VPN/Firewall connectivity.
· Handles Incident Response including planning and documentation and prevention.
· Manage system back-up both internally/offsite. Also includes Disaster Recovery configuration, testing, documenting.
· Contribute to strategic IT projects & initiatives focusing on workflow/IT improvement. Automate daily tasks.
· Manages patch management/updates for servers and end user PCs
· Address IT-related helpdesk requests and reported issues from on-premise and off-site employees
· Manage and configure network applications and appliances including websites, anti-virus, email/spam.
· Perform other related duties as required and assigned, including documentation and inventory.
Why You Are The Perfect Fit
Experience
Preferred 6 to 8 years of similar or related experience, preferably in network engineering and/or administration at companies with work forces > 100 employees
Education
(1) A college degree (non-technical discipline) or (2) multi-craft skills acquired through extensive on-the-job training or apprenticeship programs or (3) in-depth industry and job specific technical skills acquired through a combination of formal instruction and on-the-job training.
Bachelor of Science in Network Engineering, Computer Engineering, and/or Information Technology is preferred. Will consider additional relevant experience and skills in lieu of a formal degree program.\
