ABOUT THE ROLE: 

The role of an Azure Cloud Systems Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform and IT systems infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to optimize and secure our cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance of applications. 

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED  

• 3-5 years experience with the following:
  • Cloud engineering, Specifically with Microsoft Azure
  • Azure Services (e.g Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Functions, Azure Storage_)
  • Operating systems ( Windows, Linux, UNIX) and networking protocol
• Strong understanding of networking concepts and security protocols in cloud environments
• Familiarity with CI/CD processes and tools 
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (eg. Azure Monitor, Application insights.
• Knowledge of ITIL best practices 
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS PREFERRED 

• Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified : Azure Administrator, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) highly preferred
• Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, .NET, or Java.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, Application Insights).
• Travel industry experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

The Azure Cloud Systems Engineer is responsible for the following results: 

• Design, deploy, and manage Azure cloud services, IT systems and infrastructure.
• Develop and implement cloud architecture best practices and governance.
• Monitor and optimize cloud and systems infrastructure performance and costs.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate cloud solutions into existing applications.
• Perform regular system updates, backups, and recovery.
• Document system configurations, processes and procedures for knowledge sharing.
• Provide tier 3 technical support to NOC and end-users
• Implement security measures and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure.
• Stay updated with the latest Azure services and features, recommending enhancements to existing solutions.
• Document cloud architecture, processes, and configurations.
•  The ability to attend in-person meetings at least 3 times a year in Denver, Colorado headquarters.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT 

The following teams make up the Technology department: Business Analysis and Quality Assurance, Applications Development, Applications Support, and Engineering. The group identifies and develops technological strategies that support GVI’s business goals and objectives to ensure internal and external partners are provided with stable systems. These include: all desktop, network, phone and email systems, applications (reservations and operations systems), websites, and Internet access.
