Full Stack Developer

Job purpose:

We are looking for a Full Stack Developer, the ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of WordPress development and the ability to design, develop, and deploy web applications and other digital solutions. This role is perfect for a developer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working on a variety of projects.

In this role, you will:

• Design, develop, and maintain WordPress websites, web applications, and digital solutions that align with business and client needs
• Drive technical decisions, ensuring that solutions meet both business requirements and adhere to best practices in web development.
  

Job details: 

• Location: 100% Remote – open to candidates based in Central America, Mexico, or Colombia.
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM CR Time Zone
• Language Proficiency: Spanish: Native |  English: C1 reading, writing, and conversation
• Immediate availability preferred.
  

Key Responsibilities:

1. WordPress Development:
   • Design, develop, and customize WordPress websites, themes, and plugins.
   • Optimize WordPress sites for performance, security, and SEO.
   • Ensure responsiveness and cross-browser compatibility.
   • Maintain and troubleshoot existing WordPress websites.
2. Web Application Development:
   • Develop modern web applications using frameworks such as React, Vue.js, Angular, and Node.js.
     
   • Build APIs and integrate third-party services as required.
   • Write clean, scalable, and efficient code for both front-end and back-end development.
   • Translate design wireframes into high-quality code, focusing on performance optimization and cross-browser compatibility. 
3. Project Collaboration:
   • Work closely with designers, project managers, and other developers to deliver projects on time.
   • Translate client and business needs into functional, user-friendly solutions.
4. Quality Assurance:
   • Test and debug code to ensure optimal functionality.
   • Debugs or troubleshoots complex issues in existing web applications.
   • Ensure concise and comprehensive project documentation is maintained, following the team’s guidelines. 
5. Innovative Problem-Solving
   •  Identify areas for improvement in existing systems and propose innovative solutions.
   • Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend and implement best practices.

Academic Background:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience as a Software Developer
  

Required Skills and Experience:

• 5+ years of professional experience in WordPress development, including custom themes and plugins.
• Proven experience developing web applications with modern frameworks (React, Vue.js, Angular, etc.).
• Proficiency in PHP and familiarity with modern PHP frameworks.

• Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript, with extensive hands-on experience in developing robust back-end applications using Node.js.
• Ability to build, optimize, and maintain RESTful APIs and GraphQL services.

• Expert-level proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design, including experience with CSS pre-processors like SASS or LESS. 

• Knowledge of cross-browser compatibility and troubleshooting complex UI issues. 
  

• Experience optimizing web applications for performance, accessibility (WCAG/ARIA), and SEO. 

• Familiarity with build tools (Webpack, Vite.js, Gulp). 
  

• Proficient in using version control systems, particularly Git, with extensive experience working on collaborative platforms such as GitHub and GitLab for code management, versioning, and team collaboration.

• Exposure to CI/CD tools and development pipelines. 

• Experience with Atlassian tools such as JIRA, Bitbucket, and Confluence. 
  
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills for both client-side and server-side issues.
• Strong communication skills for translating technical requirements into actionable tasks.

Desirable Skills: 

• Immediate availability preferred. 

• Strong familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and e-commerce platforms, including WooCommerce and Shopify.

• Demonstrated proficiency in database management systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB, with the ability to design, optimize, and maintain scalable database solutions.
