Clinical Insights Manager, Ultrasound

ROLE DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for coordinating and conducting internal and external evaluations that provide clinical and technical feedback to enhance development and improvement of products and services. Lead high profile product demonstrations and support KOL development in the USA.  Software Validation and Image Optimization are also part of this role.  This position requires up to 70% travel. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the Ultrasound industry and the challenges faced by Sonographers and clinicians, for the USA sales and support teams.
  • Help support high profile demos in terms of both execution and strategy
  • Apply clinical and technical expertise to observe workflow and system functionality in a clinical setting. Working directly with the United States current customer base, through a parallel collaboration with Clinical Marketing Managers and Product Managers
  • Provide input on future upgrades and enhancements as a direct result of customer and competitive feedback
  • Contribute to clinical aspects of product design to meet evolving customer needs
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineering to help facilitate the best and most attainable solutions for an optimal product release
  • Insure IRB compliance in evaluating pre-market technologies internally and during external evaluations 
  • Provide product guidance to marketing, education, sales and clinical application teams
  • Identify opportunities, develop and implement plans that demonstrate the added clinical value of Samsung Healthcare technologies
  • Continually monitor North American market to determine clinical market trends and key requirements for product development to maintain a leadership position in defined modality
  • Interface with Engineering, Regulatory, Sales, Operations, Applications, and Service teams to understand and document key areas for improvement in clinical functionality 
  • Solicit input from customers, field sales, applications and service personnel regarding product improvements for assigned product lines and develop plans to capitalize on them
  • Work closely with Clinical Applications managers to improve competitive outcomes  
  • Ensure articulation of the organization’s desired vision and brand. Assure consistent communication to all constituencies, both internal and external

  • Education & Experience
  • BA or equivalent.  RDMS required
  • A minimum of 8 years of ultrasound experience within multiple applications including general imaging, OB/GYN, and cardiac. Previous commercial experience in clinical applications or education preferred 
  • Demonstrated ability to discern quality in ultrasound images and techniques
  • Knowledge and understanding of policies and competitive dynamics in healthcare industry
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders including Samsung HQ
  • Ability to communicate with engineers, technical support personnel, doctors, clinicians and health care professionals on issues relating to product performance, and the health care industry generally
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to perform clinical and product training to all levels of customers
  • Willing to travel overnight
  • Valid driving license and satisfactory driving record is mandatory and background and drug testing (pre and post-employment) is required
  • Must be a results oriented, team player, people person
  • Must be self-driven to optimize performance without the need for extensive supervision
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and work effectively in a demanding, fast paced environment
  • Must have and exhibit excellent presentation skills in small and large groups situations

  • Computer Skills
  • Must be excellent with technology, able to present using a laptop and able demonstrate proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet Explorer, and Google Chrome

  • Physical Requirements
  • Regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds 
  • Must be able to sit and/or drive for long periods of time when travelling
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time (6-8 hours) for multiple days
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus
