Job Title: Sourcing Engineer

Job Description

The Sourcing Engineer is pivotal in implementing Purchase Price Variance (PPV) projects originating from Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE) initiatives. The role involves risk mitigation, supporting part qualification processes, and providing technical expertise. This position is also responsible for identifying secondary sources for critical components and leading continuous improvement efforts. Proficiency in VA/VE and lean problem-solving techniques is key.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the implementation of Purchase Price Variance (PPV) projects stemming from Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE) initiatives. This includes managing the project from inception to completion, ensuring all objectives are met within the stipulated timelines.
  • Support the Fortive Part Qualification Process (FPQP) for new or modified parts, as well as for alternative suppliers. This involves ensuring all parts meet the required quality standards and compliance guidelines.
  • Provide crucial engineering support for PPV projects. This includes offering technical expertise, troubleshooting issues, and working closely with the project team to ensure the success of the projects.
  • Manage the process of identifying, qualifying, and securing secondary sources for critical components to ensure supply chain stability.
  • Lead problem-solving and continuous improvement efforts, employing lean problem-solving techniques.
  • Evaluate, manage, and mitigate potential risks associated with End-of-Life (EOL) items.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of Purchase Price Variance (PPV) and Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and experience with lean problem-solving techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven working experience as a sourcing engineer or similar role.
  • Comfortable with figures and in collecting, analyzing and interpreting data.

The salary range for this position (in local currency) is 67,700.00 - 125,900.00. Base pay offered may vary depending on various factors, including, but not limited to: job-related knowledge; skills; experience; and other eligibility factors such as geographic location.
