How You’ll Contribute

As an Actuarial Associate on the Annuity Valuation team, you’ll be responsible for supporting the model validation/testing for annuity products, including assumption table updates, Prophet model validation and execution, development of process/model controls, and analysis of results. This role is primarily focused on FIA/RILA. In addition, this role will also support any strategic initiatives for the annuity product.

In This Role, You’ll Get To

• Support all aspects of model testing work for FIA/SIA from the development testing to E2E UAT model testing.
• Create and maintain strong documentation on testing results, decisions made, and new processes implemented.
• Support model development testing to ensure model updates are consistent with requirements.
• Develop creative solutions to complex problems – identify ways to streamline and simplify the annuity modeling process to increase capacity for value-added activities.
• Perform single cell audits to ensure projection models are consistent with product features.
• Develop single cell tools and spreadsheets to support analysis on model testing, audit request and reserve movements.
• Coordinate and validate the impact of assumption updates on modeled results.
• Respond to requests from risk, internal audit, and external audit on the Prophet model.
• Collaborate with other actuarial teams including pricing, valuation, and modeling to support alignment across use cases.
  
  

We’re Looking For People Who Have

• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, or other similarly technical field
• Completed 4 preliminary actuarial exams for the Society of Actuaries
• Actively pursuing ASA designation with the Society of Actuaries
• Strong programming skills with experience with Python, R, VBA, C++, or similar languages
• Exposure to actuarial modeling software such as FIS Prophet desirable
• Relevant work experience with attributing, and validating models is preferred
• Can adjust work resources and deadlines in response to changing business priorities
• Positive attitude with an eagerness to learn
• Strong written and oral communication skills with ability to communicate effectively to a non-technical audience
• Highly proficient with Excel and other MS Office products

• Compensation – Level and salary to be commensurate with exam progress.
• Associate Level (4+ Exams): Base salary ranging from $80,000 to $93,000 plus competitive performance-based incentives determined by company and individual results.
