Job description

Job Title: Staff Nuclear Pharmacist (Floater)

FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Type: Full-Time Regular

Pay Type: Salaried

Pay Rate: $125,000 - $150,000

Reports To: Vice President, Pharmacy Operations

 

Job Overview:

The Staff Nuclear Pharmacist (Floater) will play an essential role in facilitating the efficiency and profitability operations of PharmaLogic by supporting Pharmacy Managers in the management, oversight, and day-to-day operational areas at lab facilities companywide.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Travel approximately 75% of the time to fill-in for and assist Pharmacy Managers with on-site technical support in radioisotope and radiopharmaceutical preparation and distribution.
  • Secure at least two (2) state licensure every six (6) months until licenses are obtained in all states where the company operates.
  • Assist Pharmacy Managers with the supervision and management of pharmacy personnel, including but not limited to complete P&L and budgeting responsibility.
  • Implement and ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Assist with the monitoring and control of operational expenses within the nuclear pharmacies according to plan.
  • Identify existing and emergent trends in nuclear pharmacy production and distribution necessary to achieve growth projections.
  • Become the Radiation Safety Officer (if required) and be responsible for obtaining required licensure and assuring compliance with all regulatory commitments, to include Radiation Safety, DOT Regulations and corporate policies. Provide guidance to maintain compliance with evolving USP Guidelines, Pharmacy laws, FDA Directives and Guidelines.
  • Assist with the implementation and management of the Company Quality Assurance Program.
  • Assist in the maintenance and development of relationships with customers, new and existing.
  • Follow and improve (as possible) in conjunction with the Director of Operations,
  • the policies and procedures for the preparation of radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Monitor the preparation and production and quality control of radiopharmaceuticals. Establish corrective actions as necessary to correct deviations below acceptable standards.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements │ Skills │ Education:

  • Must be a Registered Pharmacist with 3+ years nuclear pharmacist experience.
  • Must have active pharmacy license in state(s) of practice with all held licenses in good standing.
  • NRC or state Authorized User Status designation in the company’s states of operation.
  • Ability to work a variety of schedules including evenings, holidays, and weekends with 75% travel.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal communication and leadership skills.

 

Physical and Intellectual Requirements:

  • Manual dexterity for manipulating small items; regularly lift at least 50 pounds throughout each shift and to be able to lift 75 pounds on occasion. 
  • Able to handle standing, walking and sitting for 4+ hours with limited rest intervals; good eye-hand coordination; fair eyesight (with or without correction lenses); normal hearing in at least one ear (hearing range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz); ability to analyze situations, set priorities and meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail in a fast paced and dynamic environment; effective organizational skills; a commitment to continuous learning; an ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
