Job description

Job Summary

The OpenShift Observability UI team is looking for a Senior Software Quality Engineer. In this role, you will work on Red Hat’s OpenShift Container Platform, built on container technology and the Kubernetes cluster management system. You'll be responsible for all aspects of quality for Red Hat OpenShift, including designing test plans, extending automation frameworks, and developing new automated tests for both back and front ends. You will make sure our solutions fulfill the highest possible enterprise quality, performance, usability, and supportability. As a Quality Engineer, you will gain a deep technical understanding of a variety of popular technologies, including containers, Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift, etc.

What You Will Do

  • Design, develop and maintain automation UI automation frameworks and scripts, like Cypress and other programming languages, like Golang
  • Research new features and create detailed test cases to ensure comprehensive coverage.
  • Execute both manual and automated web tests for OpenShift and deliver clear status in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate closely with developers and cross-functional teams to define test requirements and objectives.
  • Identify, document, and track new bugs, advocating for their resolution and communicating potential customer impacts to the development and support teams.
  • Continuously learn and stay up-to-date with current technologies and industry trends.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, Agile environment, working alongside a global team of talented Engineers.

What You Will Bring

  • Professional QE experience working in globally distributed teams, with a focus on web automation tools like Cypress.
  • Strong understanding of front-end development, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Knowledge of testing methodologies such as functional, integration, performance, and security testing.
  • Proficiency with Linux operating systems (any distribution).
  • Programming and Test Automation skills in languages like Javascript, Shell, Python, Golang or similar.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and quickly adapt to new challenges.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

The Following Are Considered a Plus

  • Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) EC2, Google Compute Engine (GCE), or Microsoft Azure
  • Knowledge of Linux containers, Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenStack Platform, or Red Hat OpenShift
  • Knowledge of web development framework(React) is a plus
