Job Description

Location We operate a flexible, hybrid working environment with the candidate required to travel to either our Winchester or London office once or twice a week.

Overview

Contributes significantly to coding, testing, and maintaining software systems, with a focus on technical excellence and collaborative problem-solving. This is a professional role for individuals with significant experience in software engineering

Accountabilities

  • Contributes actively to the development and delivery of software features and bug fixes
  • Ensures code quality by writing and executing comprehensive tests
  • May leads the development work within a smaller project or cross functional product team
  • Coach and mentor more junior members of the team (incl Graduate and Intern engineers)
  • Writes clean, scalable, and testable code
  • Participates in code reviews to learn best practices and coding standards
  • Participates in the technical testing of code
  • Contributes to the development of features or bug fixes
  • Stays up to date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in software engineering to continuously improve personal skills and the quality of products.

Skills

  • Demonstrates strong software development skills with an ability to write efficient, clean, and maintainable code
  • Possesses effective collaboration skills and the ability to work within a team to solve complex problems
  • Exhibits strong analytical skills with a methodical approach to troubleshooting and debugging
  • Proficient in multiple programming languages and development tools relevant to Arqiva’s technology stack
  • Familiarity with programming languages commonly used in the industry
  • Good problem solving, analytical and logical skills to troubleshoot and solve complex software problems
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, necessary for effective teamwork, documentation, and stakeholder engagement

Knowledge & Experience

  • A few years of experience in a software development role with a proven track record of delivering quality software solutions
  • Experience work in cross functional teams and building products and platforms

Qualifications

  • Science/Computer Science degree or relevant industry experience
