Senior Project Manager to join our
Delivery Engineering team to support our expanding workload within the water industry.
Engineering+ and the Engineering Function are successful parts of the Binnies UK Delivery Business, focussed on offering efficient, smart, sustainable engineering solutions to established and new water utility clients in England, Wales, Scotland and Internationally. The design focused service provides all of the core engineering skills required to deliver feasibility, outline and detailed design and construction support. The service is provided by a large multidisciplinary team with a proven track record of delivering safe, sustainable and innovative design solutions across a wide range of project values and complexities.
The professional services provided by Engineering+ and the Engineering function support both Main Contractors and Water Clients.
About The Role
The Project Manager will be accountable for the planning and execution of our projects to the defined scope, cost and programme to meet our Client’s requirements. They will also engage with clients and implement resource management strategy to drive successful framework delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership, guidance and direction to others in the coordination and delivery of multi-disciplinary appraisals and designs
- Coaches and mentors professionals including performance management, career planning and leaning and development.
- Understand client performance requirements and develop strategy to deliver value to all parties
- Create and review proposals and costings for new projects
- Implements resource management strategy for professionals across multiple projects / programmes
- Assess the technical and commercial risk of projects during the sales process
- Plans, execute, monitor and control projects in terms of scope, time, cost, quality, resource, communications, risk, procurement and stakeholder management for projects varying in revenue.
- Effectively control and manage project change
- Manage health & safety of team
- Manage the Health and Safety outputs of the design
- Contract management under a variety of framework and standalone contracts
- Deliver projects to the As-Sold financial metrics or better
- Ensures compliance with quality management systems, and drives innovation and efficiencies into project delivery
- Organise and chair professional client meetings
Attributes:
The role is suitable for an individual with a proven track record in Project and Contract Management and a desire to continue to develop their career in this direction. You should possess and be able to demonstrate the following qualifications, skills and knowledge:
- Professional qualification in Project Management and/or an engineering discipline
- Leadership skills to manage project teams and create positive change
- Motivated to manage projects in the water sector
- Experience in a project management role on large D&B projects
- Understanding of commercial models for both project delivery and tender development
- Knowledge of programme management using Microsoft Project or other suitable software
- Collaborative individual that effectively builds teams
- Liaison with internal and external clients to develop relationships across the business
- Excellent communicator with colleagues, clients and stakeholders
- Demonstrable experience of working in water or a transferable sector.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities
- Proven ability to plan, execute, monitor and control projects
- Proactive approach to problem solving as an individual and as part of a team with a desire to find a solution
- Demonstrate contract management and administration experience
- Demonstrated customer-facing success in project management and effective client relationship management
