The ideal candidate is an expert in managing and fine-tuning PostgreSQL databases, proficient in query optimization, and experienced in executing seamless data migrations. This role is perfect for a detail-oriented professional who thrives on improving database performance and ensuring data integrity in enterprise-grade systems.

With expertise in market localization, HR strategy, and compliance, ZooKeep specializes in helping businesses scale efficiently, focusing on Japan and Southeast Asia. Their lean, agile team is now working to modernize and professionalize their platform to better serve startups, high-growth companies, and enterprises.

Responsibilities

  • Performance Optimization:

    • Analyze and optimize PostgreSQL database performance to meet high-traffic demands.

    • Conduct query tuning, indexing, and database schema improvements to enhance efficiency.

    • Monitor and troubleshoot database performance issues using diagnostic tools.

  • Data Migration:

    • Plan and execute data migration strategies from legacy systems to new platforms.

    • Develop scripts and tools to facilitate secure and efficient data transfer.

    • Ensure data integrity and consistency throughout the migration process.

  • Database Management:

    • Maintain and manage PostgreSQL databases, ensuring high availability and scalability.

    • Design and implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.

    • Develop and maintain database security standards.

  • Collaboration:

    • Work closely with developers, product owners, and the interim CTO to align database performance with application requirements.

    • Provide technical guidance on database best practices to cross-functional teams.
