India - Solution Architect

Solution Architects at Inchcape work with business, technology, and development stakeholders to design high-level solutions to various business problems. Typically, solutions will consider multiple options to satisfy all BDAT domains, with recommendations brought to an Architecture Review Board for validation. On approval, the role holder will follow the design through approval of low-level design and hand-over to development.

Solutions must be cost-effective, scalable, and supportable, and aligned with Inchcape’s principles, standards, and frameworks. The position will:

• Provide end-to-end solution designs and architecture at the product/segment level keeping broad enterprise vision in mind.
• Collaboratively maintain and propose changes to the design, architecture and technology standards, principles, framework, and guardrails.
• Ensure architectural standards, governance, and principles are implemented effectively by auditing assigned IT programs, projects, products, and small works.
• Optimise deliverables for business value realisation, considering reusability of solutions, architectural building blocks, components, and designs.
• Review new and existing designs against architectural standards and principles.
• Ensure Business Impact Assessment, Business Continuity and DR processes are standardised, resilient and tested to meet the agreed business requirements.
• Assess new technologies for effectiveness and better cost-to-value for business problems.
  
  

Key accountabilities

• Work in collaboration with stakeholder groups, providing technical guidance and support to ensure the successful and cost-effective delivery of projects.
• Design and develop robust, scalable solutions that align with architectural principles and best practices and consider each of the BDAT domains (Business, Data, Application, and Technology).
• Solution development based on existing technology stack to limit technological creep. The Inchcape ecosystem is mostly AWS, C# and React. Services are loosely coupled and integrated mainly through REST interfaces.
• Ensure the architecture aligns with business goals and objectives, providing a clear path for future scalability and integration.
• Identify and assess new technology for potential adoption within ISS.
• Create feasibility study and proofs of concept for given business problems.
• Align architecture with the business strategy, IT strategy and product delivery roadmaps.
• Management and governance of technology bricks and technical debt, for hardware and software used in production and non-production environments.
