Plummy Games, fast-growing mobile gaming company that developed Star Merge game, a remarkable success and genre leader in the mobile gaming world, is seeking an experienced CTO to join our dynamic team.

With our headquarters in Estonia, an R&D hub in Moldova, and a team of top-tier professionals spanning seven countries, Plummy Games is a global leader in mobile gaming innovation. We’re looking for a visionary CTO to spearhead our technical strategy, lead innovation, and ensure seamless game delivery.

Responsibilities:

Technical Strategy and Vision:

  • Develop and execute the company’s technology strategy, aligning it with the broader business goals and future product roadmaps.
  • Evaluate and implement emerging technologies and industry trends to maintain a competitive edge in the mobile gaming market.
  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure technical initiatives align with company growth, scalability, and user experience objectives.

Product and Platform Development:

  • Oversee the entire development lifecycle of mobile games, including design, coding, testing, and deployment.
  • Ensure high standards of coding practices and quality across teams, including implementing code reviews, testing protocols, and QA procedures.
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, and LiveOps teams to ensure efficient and timely delivery of game features and updates.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team of engineers, developers, and data scientists, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Identify talent gaps, recruit top technical talent, and establish robust onboarding and professional development programs.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and technical growth opportunities within the engineering team to keep skills current with the latest industry standards.

Infrastructure and Operations:

  • Oversee the architecture and maintenance of back-end infrastructure, ensuring reliability, scalability, and high performance across all gaming applications.
  • Implement best practices in DevOps, including CI/CD, automated testing, and cloud-based deployments (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud).
  • Manage data security, privacy, and compliance standards, particularly around player data and payment processing, ensuring alignment with GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant regulations.

Data-Driven Decision Making:

  • Use data analytics to drive player insights, user retention strategies, and monetization optimization.
  • Oversee data infrastructure, including data warehousing, ETL processes, and real-time analytics systems to support product and business intelligence needs.
  • Collaborate with the data team to create predictive models, refine in-game mechanics, and support A/B testing for LiveOps initiatives.

Stakeholder Engagement and Cross-Department Collaboration:

  • Partner with the CEO and executive team to communicate the company’s technical vision and roadmap.
  • Act as the key technical spokesperson, engaging with stakeholders, investors, and industry peers to present the company’s technology leadership and innovation.
  • Work closely with Marketing, Product, and Customer Support to ensure cohesive delivery of game updates and to support user acquisition and retention goals.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in technology leadership roles, with at least 5 years in the mobile gaming industry.
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent experience in relevant fields is also acceptable.
  • Deep understanding of mobile game development technologies (Unity, cocos2dx, custom game engine), cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP), data analytics, and game monetization strategies.
  • Proven track record in building, leading, and mentoring diverse technical teams in a fast-paced, iterative development environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a passion for using data to drive decision-making.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
  • Game Design Principles: Understanding of core gameplay loops, user experience, and game economy mechanics.
  • Experience with LiveOps: Familiarity with LiveOps systems and in-game events to drive engagement and retention.
  • AI & ML Knowledge: Experience with implementing AI/ML algorithms for player behavior prediction, personalization, or automated testing.
