About The Opportunity

DMI is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer – OpenText Operations Orchestration (formally known as Opsware) Specialist, Monitoring Event Management Team, Level 2

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join our Monitoring Event Management Team with a primary focus on OpenText Operations Orchestration (formally known as Opsware) maintenance and configuration. This role will serve as the heart of our operational system management, requiring both hands-on expertise with OpenText Operations Orchestration, creating APIs, programming languages such as PowerShell, JSON, and proficiency with Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing critical systems, maintaining network security, monitoring performance, and troubleshooting issues to minimize disruptions. The role will also involve mentoring junior staff, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring compliance with security standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Primary Ownership of OpenText Operations Orchestration Systems: Configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting the application’s systems to ensure consistent performance, stability, and adherence to SLAs.
  • Cloud Infrastructure Management: Leveraging Azure capabilities for operational needs, with a focus on integration, monitoring, and optimizing cloud-based services.
  • Monitoring alerts from diverse systems and tools, ensuring timely responses and resolutions to maintain optimal system uptime.
  • Collaborating with teams to design and implement monitoring strategies for both new and existing services, prioritizing Operations Orchestration and Azure environments.
  • Analyzing system performance, security, and reliability, and implementing improvements for process efficiency and automation.
  • Providing Level 2 technical support, addressing complex issues and escalating when necessary.
  • Ensuring compliance with security standards, data privacy requirements, and disaster recovery protocols.
  • Training and mentoring junior staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Participating in 24/7 on-call rotations to provide after-hours support.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, with proven experience in Opsware and/or OpenText Operations Orchestration maintenance and configuration.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Azure and familiarity with cloud services such as AWS or Google Cloud is a plus.
  • Strong foundation in systems management, event monitoring, and incident response.
  • Experience in systems administration, networking, databases, and security infrastructure.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant certifications such as Azure Administrator Associate, CompTIA Server+, Security+ or similar.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices.
  • Proven leadership skills with a track record of mentoring junior staff.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies and automation.

Qualifications
