Primary Objective Of Position


You have an excellent background in data-driven decision-making. The Director of Credit and Collections will, through effective internal and external communication, ensure collection goals are met while providing stellar customer service. This position requires a strong leader with the ability to prioritize, plan, and lead a team.


Major Areas Of Performance


  • Establish Key performance indicators for the credit and collections team in line with credit and collection policy
  • Lead and manage a commercial collections portfolio and do so in a manner holding stakeholders and customers accountable while providing excellent customer service
  • Help financial leadership assess company exposure and collection risk. Make recommendations and ensure systematic controls are in place for continuous monitoring of receivables exposure
  • Establish processes to identify changes in payment patterns that incorporate action to avert indebtedness. Advise in the proposed write-off of unrecoverable receivables.
  • For customers who stop paying, work with all departments to stop providing services and with outside counsel to start legal action to collect outstanding receivables
  • In the case of bankruptcy, work with legal to maximize recoveries
  • Monitor industry trends, and stay up-to-date with business impacts on high exposure areas
  • Periodically benchmark policies with industry practice and market conditions
  • Initiate process improvement and quality reviews to simplify and improve credit and collections policy execution and controls
  • Educate all partners on the importance of payment terms and collections, and enhance the escalation processes for proposed policy exceptions
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting and work on special projects, as requested by management


Qualifications (Experience, Education, Knowledge, Skills) Required


  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, preferably in business, MBA preferred
  • 10 + years experience in shared services domain with recent experience in Credit & Collections
  • Ability to interface with internal and external clients to address current and future needs and resolve client issues.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate credit decisions to support business needs. Must be able to articulate reasoning for credit decisions, collections outplacement when required
  • Ability to hold challenging conversations with senior operational and corporate leadership leveraging their influence and analytical capabilities for decision making
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence and to adjust as required based on the audience.
  • Highly organized with the ability to train, motivate, and maintain an efficient and energetic team environment.
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Experience with HighRadius will be a plus


The anticipated annual base salary for this position in the US is $110,000 to $125,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
