The Role

The Business Continuity Manager leads and executes business continuity and disaster recovery initiatives within our AWS cloud environment. This position develops and implements strategies to ensure operational resilience, minimize service disruptions, and maintain business operations during unexpected events. The role requires combining technical knowledge of AWS infrastructure with business continuity management expertise.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead BCM strategy with focus on AWS infrastructure resilience
  • Develop recovery plans addressing AWS service dependencies and failover
  • Design and implement multi-region disaster recovery solutions
  • Ensure business continuity across AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, etc.)
  • Build cross-functional partnerships with Cloud Engineering and DevOps teams
  • Conduct disaster recovery testing and failover exercises
  • Monitor and report on AWS infrastructure availability
  • Lead technical risk assessments of cloud architecture
  • Document and maintain AWS infrastructure dependencies

What You'll Bring to Numerator

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 5+ years BCM experience in cloud-native environments
  • Strong AWS infrastructure knowledge (compute, storage, networking, security)
  • Experience with AWS disaster recovery patterns
  • Understanding of high availability design in AWS
  • Project management experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer)
  • Additional certifications (CISSP, PMP, Six Sigma)
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Knowledge of AWS Well-Architected Framework
  • Site reliability engineering background
