Your new team
As a part of our Project Economics and Optimisation Team, consisting of 4 engaged colleagues, but also in collaboration with the rest of the PtX department, you will be working with business case modelling and analyzing PtX and biogas projects.
The Team’s Primary Focus Is To
- Build, optimize, and maintain the business case for PTX projects from a commercial and techno-economic perspective throughout the project development cycle until Final Investment Decision (FID).
- Secure offtake contracts and critical supply chain agreements for project execution and financing.
- Lead or support projects throughout EE’s stage gate model from early project framing to the Investment Committee at FID.
Techno-economic Modelling
Key duties & responsibilities for the role:
- Run commercial software to identify the optimal operational strategy for PtX and biogas plants to achieve the lowest cost of product.
- Ensure PtX and biogas technical assumptions, CAPEX; OPEX, and power/gas prices assumptions in models are aligned with relevant teams (technology, EPC, PPA).
- Liaise with economist to develop financial model.
- Use and update EE modelling workflows and make relevant documentation.
Business case modeling and project developing support for PtX and biogas projects:
- Support the conceptualization, framing, and development of new PtX projects and biogas projects linked to PtX projects.
- Support in identifying opportunities and risk for PtX projects including mitigating actions.
- Liaise with PtX project teams across markets and driving the business case scenarios (low-mid-high) as part of the EE project model.
- Help preparing Gate materials including FID pack for specific projects.
- In collaboration with the PPA team assist in define power sourcing strategy for PtX projects incl. PPA(s), GO's and hedging opportunities.
- Identify added value from power sourcing/trading for PtX or combined PtX and RE projects.
- Stay up to date with regulatory (EU) requirements for green fuels.
Job prerequisites
- Relevant master degree (e.g. from DTU, AAU or similar).
- 5-10 years of relevant experience from a similar function.
- Proficiency in English orally and written is a must, Danish is a plus.
- MS Office, and preferably Python.
